6000w design help

i am building a room with (6) 1000 watters (4) super hps (2) daylight mh...hung vertically from the ceiling without reflectors...i will either make it 8x8 or 10x10 or maybe even 8x10.... i'm growing big plants and less numbers and i believe this is the best lighting for me..i know i will yeild more doing the reverse but i'd rather keep numbers down.... i will be using a 12" 1000cpm can fan with a can150 charcoal filter..i will have (2) 4" intakes w/ hepa filter...and a couple wall mounted fans...below are a few questions i had and if you have any concerns by all means...post'em

a few questions i had are:

will the exhaust be sufficent ?? will it give me two low humidity? temps?
intake should be around 72-76
with the lighting i'm using what amount of plants in what size room would be optimum ??
what size pots?
i am buying a controller for humidity and temp that will only be hooked up to the exhaust....that doesn't seem like it compliments each other...how does this all work together....??

now what am i missing?

thanks

Do you need a main loadcenter for all your equipment to plug into. Then just hard-wire to a main panel with a 50A or 60A double pole breaker. I can build you one similar to this one. If you already have one, right on..... If you have any questions , let me know.

Ok let's say you will build a 10x12 room as you can not fit 6 1000w in anything smaller and if it's 9 feet high your cubic volume will be 1080 cubic feet so the 12" exhaust will be adequite, now you have to find out how
much your intake CFM will be as to much air will bring your humidity up and not enough will be to dry but with 2 4" intake fans you are probabley right on but if those 2 intakes are vortex, can ect then i would suggest a fan speed controller as this will allow you to slow the intakes down if their to fast and you can dial in your humidity. Now if you want to do low numbers which is a good idea for a begginer i suggest you do 16 plants a light in 4x4 with 3 gallon pots,a two week veg and your good to go and as far as getting more # per light buy doing bigger numbers i would say that is not usually the case especially for someone just starting out also if you have a large budget and room you might want to do a veg room as this will allow you to get 6 harvests per year for example if your going to be doing 96 plants all you would need is a 600w above a 4x4 flood tray that contains your 96 clones in 4 inch pots, you will take or order your cutting on week 5 of your flowering room and allow 1 week to root and 2 weeks to veg ending up a 8 weeks and your crop is ready to be harvested and your cuts are ready to be transplanted after you take the roots our of your soil their for you get re-planted within 2/3 days and buy doing this you most defenetley get 6 harvest a year.If you have any questions just PM me.

DB2004 i actually am buying a 220/50amp (8) outlet breaker box..it has a timer and another (2) 120v outlets..... did you make yours? how much was the total cost? the one i'm buying is kinda pricey and i wouldn't mind making one....

BCso you think 10x12 huh? i definitely like the extra room but i always heard (1) 1000watter per 4'x4' area? but that was horizontal lighting so......my intake are both passive w/ filters....should i have fans? i figured the 12'' would create enough pressure....haha i was thinking maybe at the most 15-20 plants total...with those numbers should i go bigger than 3gal?

thanks for all the help!!

If you want to do a vertical grow you are going to need more space than the usual 4x4 per light. I would say 6x6 or even more, depending on the size of the plants you will be growing. Regardless, 10x12 I don't think would be enough for 6 - 1000 watt HPS. I have at the moment 4 - 1000 watt HPS and it takes up about 12x12, but that is with rather large plants. Also, space around the grow is needed for watering so don't forget that important point. Right now in my grow I have to crawl around on my hands and knees to water, and sometimes to get to the back I have to slither along a wall sideways so not to break any branches. It's a pain in the ass to say the least!

well i took a look at your gallery and that is what i'm trying to do....vertical lamps with no reflectors and big ass plants.... i'm now thinking maybe 15gal pots , 1 plant per 3ft2 or 4 per lamp? too much? what size do you recommend ? 12x12?

I think 15 gallon pot is over kill. I use 3.5 gallon pots with Promix and I find it does well with three foot tall plants or a little larger (not including pot). I usually put 5 plants per 1000,but lately I have been cramming more in than I shold because I don't have the heart to kill perfectly good plants. I always make too many and then have a problem getting rid of them. But even if I put more plants, my yield will not go up and it is just more work for nothing, so I found with plants my size 5 is the magic number.

sounds like you should be doing a stadium grow with the hanging bulbs.

hanging bulbs is the appitamy of ghetto growing, with 80% of the light wasted, ive seen alot of fluffy bud made this way. with a stadium you surround the light with the plants making it efficiant again.

sounds like you should pick up some silversun reflectors and grow a few trees.
if your numbers are going to be small 6k is way overkill.

I don't understand what you mean 'hanging bulbs'. I hope you are not refering to vertical grows with the plants surrounding the lights, because I have found that to be one of the most efficient ways to grow. Correct me if I'm wrong about your meaning.

i may not be a super ninja grower but i do know that vertical lighting hung without reflectors at canopy level is hardly a waste of light and i think its pretty well established its the best way to grow large plants indoors....

stadium grow is a different beast being that that you are doing large numbers and small plants,,,,,a great way to grow..no doubt...but i like tall sativas and less numbers so it doesn't work for me

thanks for the comments

I agree a stadium grow is the most efficient, but a regular vertical grow with 1K's and plants surrounding the bulb isn'tto far off. Do which ever your room allows, but I guarantee you will not be disapointed.

That 50A timer box is loud. The cheap contactors they use hum quite a bit. Sometimes they're okay, not that loud, but most of the time you'll know they're on.....

thanks for the tip....

Look at HP Stadium in my signature below, thats what you should do, if you want to do vertical and use 1k's.

well i have read all 27 pages of that thread before actually read it a few times...however 220+ plants a room, isn't for me, i know that i could grow less shelves and bigger plants but still these number are too much... its a great setup though...
