600 or 1000 watt for DR120

I've got a dr120 (about 4x4x6.5) and I've currently got a 600w hps air cooled with a vortex 6 inch but I have to run the fan at medium-high on a variable speed controller because of noise. The air temp gets up to 82 at the hottest. 6 DWC and 2 soil...

Should/could I upgrade to a 1000w, or would this put out too much heat/be overkill?

youll need another fan to cool down the 1000, just did the same search awhile back. I would say that you could just get another Stanley blower fan and that would take care of the extra heat, just remember u still gotta hook it up to a filter or its gonna stink...

Cool thanks, I don't think it's worth it if I have to run another fan, too noisy + more watts...

I was thinking though, what if I threw in 420watts (4X105) of spiral CFLs? and then I had a veg chamber with 420 or 630 watts of CFLs...

you can just get co2 injection then the higher heat levels become optimum 88 degrees F.. and you can silence your fan

Cool thanks for the idea... a buddy of mine has co2 gear he's not using so I'll probably upgrade once I move into my new place this summer.

you gotta swipe up that CO2 gear! i've had temps up around 96*F and the growth never slowed a bit. it seemed to pick up the higher it went. it's never too late to add it. might not see a huge jump but it'll def make a difference.
