6 inch versus 8 inch cool tubes? Performance gain?

Anyone switch from 6" to 8" cool tubes? If so, how were the results? Is there much of a performance gain to be had by switching to these?

Some people clain the 6 inch tubes are better because they "speed up the air" more to cool the lights... in my day we called that "restricted the air flow" I just do not buy it, but i have no way to confirm this, but it makes sense to me.

maybe someone would be nice enough to buy a 6 inch tube and an 8 inch tube put in identical grow boxes and measure the heat levels. Would do the community a great service. (it's not like you would have a useless cool tube they both should work just fine.

The reason I asked is because I just saw the 8" tubes not too long ago in one of the catalogs. They seem like they'd be pretty nice for a vertical setup. With 3 in a row, i'd probably want to run as big as possible and shove as much air as possible in there to cool the bulbs. By the last one, that air would probably be pretty hot.

the guy at the hydro store told me that 6" cooled better due to more velocity. Well, we'll see. I'm going to be using a 8" vortex so hopefully that thing puts out enough flow to make these 8" cool tubes shine. I'm running two in series with 600's. I'm picking them up next wednesday.
