6/12 cycle

I remember years ago readin about using 6on 12 off light cycle for flowering to shave off a week for every month . And I also noticed that several timers on the market have a 18 hour day cycle, so who's done it and can you tell me how it compares to 12/12. I personally have always used 11.5 on and 12.5 off just to be on the safe side of things and I've always had great results.I was thinkin of maybe goin from 4 600's to maybe six 600's and doin 6 hours in instead of the standard 12. Not to increase my yield but so I can flower my more sativa strains in 8-9 weeks instead of 11-12 weeks. And if youre using the solatel light timers Id love to hear from ya as well.

ive read about it too it makes sense about tricking it to thinking the days are going by....however reduced yield does make sense because the plants are getting alot less light....and we all kno that less light = airy buds and stretched plants...

ya but if I add more lights then it makes up for the reduced yield and I can finish my longer finishin strains a few weeks faster or at least it sounds logical. I somehow doubt the buds would be too wispy and stretched but then again thats why Im doin the research now . I just dont see any documented MJ grows to support my theory that addin a few lights would make up for the decreased yield. I have 5 huge chocolopes right now that I topped and lst'ed and I was thinkin maybe I could speed up the harv a lil by givin em 18 hour days for the last month. If I cant find any documented 18 hour day grows then I'll do my own 6/12 grow diary.
