5x5 Setup - AG Grow #1

All the girls are chugging along nice besides one of my Flight Risk phenos. Drinks faster than the rest and turned into a leggy bitch that I am now trying to fix. I lowered the light about half a foot and gave the first feed of calmag today that wasn’t a foliar spray. I also topped the clone 2 days ago (accidentally pulled a leaf to the top node) - she seems to be recovering just fine. This was the first watering til run off as well. The 5L humidifier doesn’t seem to do well unless I fill her everyday which the few days I slack not gonna lie. Panicked real bad when I checked the AC app at work and saw 48% humidity lol but the girls are fine and I’ll post pics before work late in the AM. I’m also in the discord so any homies wanna hit me up there too let me know!

Topped up some coco to give the leggy girls some reinforcement. Pictures as promised.

You can also see how weird the clone looks now too since I accidentally plucked a leaf topping her lol

Kicked on the portable AC a few minutes ago. I have her set to 73, and pointed directly at the flap on the bottom of the tent.

Temps were starting to creep a little high for my liking, around 83 degrees and about 78-81% humidity. Hoping that extra air movement strengthens the stems a bit too.

Some update pics.

FCGSC clone has grown huge, tons of off shoots. I was forced to keep light intensity around 30% which I believe made her stretch a lot and caused not much horizontal growth. You’ll know which one she is lol she looks crazy and I wanna take cuts but have no idea where to cut her lol.

Flight risk is the smallest one. Seems to be getting good growth the last few days. She started pretty late and I’m hoping with some more light intensity and now being in the 3gal, she’ll pop off.

The TK x Chem 91 fucking stink already and we’re a lil root bound in the solo cups but I wanted to make sure they were good to transplant because I transplanted the forum a lil too early (hence the low level of coco. About 3gals in a 5 gallon bag for her. Rest are 3 gals.)

Light is sitting at 50% now and a few inches lower to stop the vertical growth and hopefully hit those lower. Though timing is right, these plants seem a little under developed to start defoliating and trying to train. I for sure wanna run a trellis net but don’t have much under growth to start training them.

Here are the pics

About ten days later. Huge growth now. However my forum cut clone (biggest plant) seems to be taco’d and drinking water very fast. Can’t seem to get the taco’ing under control, rest of the plants seem fine.

The TK x Chem 91 behind the forum cut was droopy because I let them dry out to see if overwatering was the issue (it’s not). It’s been a joy learning these plants so far and getting to know them and what they like/don’t like.

I feel like a shitty parent trying to figure out what she’s crying out for. Maybe less light? I had the light set to 50% and just now raised the light about 3-4 inches along with lowering the dimmer to about 30% again.

Any tips related to this forum cut would be HUGE.

Thanks!

Well, this fucking sucks to post. I had to chop all the plants down due to severe wilting on one of the chem x tk plants. Im lucky as hell I snagged a few cuts off the forum while she was in veg before the problem arose so I still have some of her. The wilting (cause unknown, I believe was due to becoming hydrophobic - took days longer than others to go dry) caused a really bad problem with bugs almost overnight and after going thru my current options of trying to save them with pesticides, I’m deciding to consider myself lucky to have gotten good cuts off the forum, and take my losses and start over.

Part of the journey I guess and despite me being severely upset because I was learning a lot and actually solving most of the issues I was having relatively quickly, that chem cross just was battling me tooth and nail. I was able to fix the forums woody stem issue, and saw explosive growth on the flight risk and second chem x tk, that specific one I couldn’t figure out and I think next run I’ll do a SOG to avoid disappointment after a pretty long veg and not really sacrifice on yield.

I really only have attachment to the forum cut so I’ll get over it in a few days, but yeah really sucks and I’m disappointed in myself for not being able to figure her out. I dedicate a lot of time to finding answers on my own and making sure any mistakes I make I fix. Here’s to bouncing back next round a better student, and better grower.

Hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving with your families, ate good food, and smoked even better. One love!

You'll have a bountiful harvest next time. :)
Really great that you could secure the genetics you really like! A small set back but more experience gained. ☮️

Yeah that’s the goal. I had a fellow grower buddy throw me some high yielding genetics from Pheno Addicts (flavordesigner on IG) to try out SOG he said I’ll never wanna grow any other way so we will see.

That's very nice! Great you have a buddy like that. Never heard those names but curious how the genetics work out for you!
SOG is fun, short plants and the trimming is a breath.
Keep us updated :lurk:
