5x5 raptor 2k heat issues

Hey guys just looking for some ideas or better ways to set up ventilation to drop my temps to around 80. Currently the way it's set up, I'm at about 90 dialed down to 1200 watts and around 100 with 2k watts. I'd like to run at 2k and I've attached pics on how it's setup. I was kind of afraid to hang that monster filter and raptor weight on those crossbars. The pic that shows duct at the bottom is me feeding central air directly into the tent.

Anyone have any ideas to drop temps comfortably withing range?

Would it be better to attach the inline fan directly to the hood and out the tent?

Would an duct booster fan for the a/c drop my temps by 15 degrees?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I've dropped it from 111 down to about 95 so far. I'm thinking another inline fan or maybe booster blowing ac into the tent

How do you have a rapter with 2000 watts?

First the ceiling height would need to be about 10 - 12 feet tall. Second that's a shit load forma tent.

1k is plenty for a 5 x 5.

Don't blow air into the tent or the smell will come out. You will lose negative pressure and operation security.

First of all, I'm not sure why you are attempting to push so much power in such a small area, but what the hay, I like insanity :D. If you lay your hand on the outside of the hood, is is cool to the touch? If not, you need to insulate the outside of the hood and ducting. I assume the larger issue is just the IR radiation. Only way I know to try to slow that down is with a water cooled lens. Have two plates of glass, with water flowing between them. But I would seriously question the sanity of going to that much effort to put that much power, in that small of an area.

It is indeed a dual bulb 8" raptor. At 1k which I know is pretty much staple for a 4x4 or 5x5 I'm only getting 40 watts per sqft. I'd like to be around 70. Even if I dial my ballast to 1200 it still runs hotter than I'd like, around 90. I'd like it to be around 78-80.

As far as the ac goes, it's kind of a loft space and can get ice cold up there with central air. I live in a hot state so the ac is on everyday at like 68 anyway. I though might be a good idea to run duct straight to the ac vent to the bottom of the grow tent to try and control temps. Even if I had to get a duct booster fan or something similar. Just looking for ideas, or a more efficient exhaust setup. I do have another inline fan but it's 6" instead of 8" that hooked to the 8" filter right now

Without a t-stat in your tent central a.c. won't help because it's not reading the inside of your tent.

I don't understand your comment. I'm running duct, about 5ft from vent to bottom of the tent. AC is on 24/7 anyone since I live in a rather hot state and I'm just funneling that wasted ac into the tent. Thermostat hanging about 24 inch from the hood at 1200 is and out 90, at 2k watts its like 100 I believe

No its pretty hot, and it's enclosed in glass case. I'm not about all that ahah. I'm just trying to see if there is any exhaust setup with 2 inline fans and good ac to run 2k watts at 80 degrees. I'd have to shave off about 15-20 degrees

It's dual bulb. I'd like to be over 70w/sq ft

To cool that light you will need at least 1300 but dedicated only for that light. I bet your central a.c. is about 2 or 3 ton unit. A little vent will not cool that at all because most of your a.c. is going through your whole house. Get a portable unit run it out of your tent and duct that unit into your tent and make sure you use insulated duct because that exhaust is going to get hot.

Imo you are wasting time and money doing it like this. If you don't pull 3.5 to 4 units out of that it's a waste.

Your next issue will be lack of humidity during lights on. Everything you do is going to cause a new issue.

Get the thought of running 2k out of your head and you will be much happier

By the way a t- stat is a thermostat and they control your a.c. or heat and tell it when to turn on and off. What you are talking about is called a thermometer and those just tell you the temperature of a certain area.

1000 watts and a raptor reflector offers great spread for a 5x5 tent. 2000 is way too much for that tent. I would have just gotten the 1 bulb raptor myself. You should still be able to cool it at 1200.

Where are you exhausting the heat from your reflectors to? Ideally you need to exhaust the heat from the reflectors into the attic, out a window, etc. You also need another 6" fan to exhaust the tent itself, preferably into the attic or out a window as well.

Air is being blown outside a window in attic. I do have another 6" inline fan.

Aha didn't catch that. Yeah I'm not wanting to out a bunch more money into the grow I just wanted to know if 2k was feasible

AC is pretty solid. there are 3 vents along the wall so it can get super cold. I can funnel 1 vent directly into the tent ground level. I have a humidifier too that could hopefully keep it close to range, it can get up to around 80 in a 3x3. But I'm just listing equipment I have. I'm not dead set on 2k but would like to know if what I have to work with can get temps under control. I can always power down the ballast to 1200 between the two and I'm sure I'd still be happy with the outcome

2k does seem excessive, you're going to see diminishing returns at anything over 1200 but have you tried running another line from your AC into another part of the tent? Should provide double the cooling but my biggest concern would be if it's also running the rest of the house it's going to be on during your dark cycle so it's going to be warm with lights on and very cold with lights off. Your plants will hate that big temp difference between the day and night cycle

You could do it with AC but then electric bill goes in high heavens...

also think that 2000W are somehow too strong light intensity as i grow with
Gavita 1000 DE and i sees shes already killing with light intensity..

Anyway, good luck to you, will stay tunned to sees how you maintained a problem

The only reason I've got the AC idea is because my household is warm blooded sweat when they see types and the ac is already set on like 68 in summer. Doesn't help temps can get 100 either.
