57% Germ Rate w/ Hey Dave Fems

Got my order from the Bay on Sat. was really stoked to get my next project of ground but after 2 day soaking with my grow mat only 12 germd out of 21. Going to give them another 5 days to make sure the embryos haven't died off. But my other orders from CSG, Casey Jones & Gratefull Casey Fems both showed life within 4 hours with a 5/5 germination rate? Don't know if I got a bad batch or if they are just stale being an older listing? I'll update the Mods here on any success I've had and just letting CSG know so they can test their remaining listings.

4 hour's? man that's quick. After an overnight soak,mine usually take between a day an a half to 3 days to pop up out the soil. mack.

Still no success w/ the remaining 9, they've been germing on a heat mat for 4 days. Sorry the driver for my usb camera isn't working for me so I don't have a pic to show.

Mack 10, your right I was very pleased w/ CSG freshness and the bays quickness in shipping but this time around half my order seemed stale or just duds? The alive seeds went in GH rapid rooters into the grow chamber to help promote growth.

Sometimes seeds don't germ shit happens and the op was never blaming csg.

ChemFrog I never blamed CSG for this bit of bad luck. I was using this public forum so that the community as whole will never have something like this happen again to show that CSG stands behind their product line and they take care of their buyers who have had this same thing happen.

ojd, I've also included pics of the 12 germinated seeds 6 days after planted to show that these didn't come up.



When I had excellent success with my prior seeds from CSG and the Bay, this is very troubling.

DIDM, that's a possibility.

Hammerhead, there is no guarantee with mothernature, but not when 57% of the germinated seeds didn't come up and the other 43% weren't viable.

something definately whent wrong there and not on our side, maybe the postal sytem? who knows

never heard of zero germ rate from any of my seeds
i cracked some seeds i made 10 or so years ago and they all popped

we are prety much out of hey dave but i can send you a list if stuff to choose from for a replacements if your interested

I agree with the 8/4 posting from avatar DIDM concerning the heat issue was the cause of the seeds drying out. The heat issues we've had on the east coast in July and the rubber stoppers on these breeder pack vials got way to warm inside. I spent $410.00 on these Hey Dave auctions. They weren’t untested seeds. From my avatar postings I’ve shown the seeds I received weren’t viable. Its 2 weeks since I PM'ed ojd and still no message from the Mod.

To every IC mag member that follows CSG and this thread I think I know what went wrong with my 7/28 order of Hey Dave. The OG Kush trait within the cross of Casy Jones x OG Kush x Afghan Kush. My recent grow thread in strains & hybrids https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=247356. I had to soak the seeds 24 hrs. prior to germination. With the Hey Daves I used the paper towel method and the OG Kush shells are so hard one would almost have to scuff the seeds. The genetics are within the various crosses. My mistake was not knowing at that time.
