It might work, it might not. It's very likely to either die prematurely OR kill the ballast or sometimes both!
This may or may not burn down your house, or just get the cops called when the fire starts, or just give you an off spectrum that's mostly UV for instance.
But it'll definitely steal your wallet and spend the money on cheap women and expensive beer.
Yes the bulb will turn on,yes it will work for a little bit. But as Psuedo stated,it may catch fire and cause u more problems then you ever could have thought of. You have to remember this. You are pushing 100 watts into a 50 watt bulb. That is asking for trouble there
i let my friend borrow my ballast and he was using a 175hpswatt in my 250hps ballast, i did kick sand in his face but it was for a different reason, a 100mh isnt a easy bulb to find, damn i didnt really want to run this other 1000mh ballast for a few seedlings, but this 250hps is really making these sativas strech
