5 weeks in DWC under 240W and only 6" tall! Burn or Deficiency?

Okay, I'm totally confused. I have been using six 40W CFL bulbs and the plants have hardly grown; they've stayed at 12 centimeters/ 5 inches the last 2 weeks. The plants are 5 weeks old. The CFL's are 12" away from the plants; I cannot prop them up any higher to get them closer the the lights.

I am using Botanicare's 3-1.5-4 nutes for Hydro with a dosage of 15 mL/4 litres of water in a DWC system.

pH is around 6 using tap water. I am using the same tap water and nutes for another grow and I was having no problems.

The leaves seem to be showing a magnesium or calcium deficiency.

What am I doing wrong?

Temps are in the 80's with 30-40% humidity.

how hot is your box getting? I had 4 23w cfls in a rubbermaid and without a fan it got hot as fuck and stunted my seedlings, but then I added a small cpu fan and it makes os much difference and my babys are growing a lot faster. You deff need some kind of exhaust fan in their.

I have 2 exhaust fans. Great air exchange. Temps are around 26C/80F. Humidity is 30-40%.

try lowering your lights or getting your plants closer to the light source... have you used this setup before? I'm not sure your plants are getting enough light because of this innovative setup...how is this setup going to work when the plants get bigger?

What is your reservoir temperature? In DWC this is critical...

looks like you have a deficiency of micronutrients. so they are being locked out or are not abundant enough. ph, water temp, or not enough nutrients

Those nutes need suppliments. Cal/Mag, liquid karma etc. You would think for the price, it would have everything you need in there already. Are you changing the rez out every 2 weeks? Some strains take pretty well to them nutes tho. I used PBP for hydro with cali-o and they would always show the same def. Then I used it with MasterKush and not a problem. That's why I switched to GH using Lucas formula. Much easier IMO and Iv'e seen hardly a def. since.

edit: that's definately a calcium problem.

ph of six might be just a tad high for hydro but i wouldn't think it'd cause something so drastic being just a little off. What strain is it? Some strains are notoriously slow in veg.

I'd flush em with some known clean water (like distilled, RO, etc) personally, then go back with 10ml/gal PBP and 4-5ml/gal LK...can you measure the PPM/EC of the tap water? It's not uncommon for tap water to change in content due to rain or other causes...

Hello,

Looks like a fungus due to moisture like Erwinia carotovora...
Try to lower your humidity and run your exhaust and ventilation 24/7, cut the most harmed leaves and put some acetyl salicylic acid in your res (100ppm)

erwinia caratovora is a bacteria... bacterial infections are often easy to identify. They can produce a characteristic "ooze" that leaks out of the plant tissue. If it was a fungal pathogen, I'm sure you'd see the hyphae and, if sporulating, you'd see the sporangia and other structures.

just sayin... lol : P damn plant pathology course.

edit: I'd have to agree with others above. Probably some micronute deficiencies, possibly a combination of a few. get a complete fertilizer and see what happens.
