heya all,

im looking at a 5 ton portable kwikool, want to know if anyone has experience with these or "pro" portable ac's. i have tried those cheap shitty ones years ago and they suck, this one is for cooling server rooms etc,big hot applications, please let me know...my options are limited i dont have an hvac guy on my team to charge a central air, and dont have the coin for a 5k mini split, i can get one of these at a pretty good price
thanks, my setup is for 12k,its ventable btw:smoke:

Where did you find it cheaper than a mini split? I was about to pull the trigger on 2 x 2 ton mini splits because i found them for 1400$ each. I would much rather have one of these.

kwikkools costs some coin for sure.
a quick search, i just saw a 1.5 ton/17,700btu kwik cool for $3,145
i got my 32,500btu mr slim for $150 more.

they're heavy too, 217lb for the 17K btu and 294lb for the 29k btu
hope you on the ground floor :)

Same question here. I'm seeing 5 ton Kwikools listing for $10,000

that's the 300lb'er
you can get a hookit up your self 5 ton stealth for $6745
that's a chunk-o-change price difference that can be invested into other grow room things

Guess I should have been more clear lol.

My same question was what kinda price are you getting it for? Cause from where I sit they look hella pricey!

I think he has a connect to get it for cheap... maybe used? From his OP he talks about getting it for a good price. Used or new either way... I would prefer a mini split... Easy to install if you get a model with pre-charged lines. Seems even vacuuming the line-set isn't the end of the world either.

excel air systems has the xl series 5 ton.plug and play.hook it up your self.they been around for years.i would consider them the rolls of a/c.price has dropped the last few years as more plug and play unit are coming out.i bet you can find it for under 7,000.from over 10,000 a few years back.get the stealth series if your worried about sound.

sup fellas, yes it is used from a computer co, $1800 bucks which is cheaper than used 3k mini splits ive found...it weighs 550 lbs lol its the size of a friggiin Yugo, im in a garage (yes ground floor heh) and can cut for vents...i also have a line on a 3 month old 5 ton central air system thats only $1300 with a shitload of ducting and dampners for flip flopping, i dont have an hvac guy and security concerns me,my paperwork is in order but still, havinig a random dude know my spot worrys me. Just got off the phone with my friend. He knows a couple of ac guys that are grow friendly, so looks like i do have a line on hvac guy now. So now my question has changed to kwikool or central, i dont know what the program ability of kwikool is, for the cost and intended application im imagining its pretty solid. The central is easy with a digi thermostat...opinions?

They make a water cooled version. If you're going to spend all that bread to avoid learning how to install a mini split, than get the water cooled version. Pump cold water in with a hose connection, and hot water comes out. MUCH more efficient and no hot air exhaust.
