Ok, so this is how i spent my 4/20... yeah, i know what day it is today, but between this great pot and getting my hands on the new Tool cd i have been glued to my couch and unable to do this smoke report...
so without further ado....
(Cherry) Ak-47 - Serious Seeds-
Smell- Like you might have imagined it smells like cherry... this is a really nicely grown organic and fully ripe sample so the cherryness is hard to ignore... mouthwatering...
Taste- the taste is less fruity, the high trichome coverage makes for a more hashy taste... very lung expanding (cough cough)
Effect-devestating in every way... this is not one i would recomend for wake and bake... unless you have no ambitions of doing anything productive this day... good heady/body balance... great for rendering one's self comatose for the purpose of giving good music the full attention it deserves..
Bud Structure-hybrid style... fluffy but not light... full bodied but not a rock-like nugget... LOTS of trichs...
Grapefruit -Female Seeds-
Smell-citrus... with careful inspection the smell is more lemon-like than say NYCD, which smells JUST like grapefruit... still the smell on this pot is overt and pleasantly sour/fruity/sweet...
Taste-a little harsh... the fruityness doesn't hold as well in the smoke... though another weeks worth of curing might have fixed that
Effect- a good mix... a 'beginners' sativa... nice mild up, racey high without the madness a truely strong haze hybrid can bring on... still quite strong... the indica properties just seem to neutralize the intenseness of the sativa side... i imagine other phenos could easily go more to one side or the other...
Bud Structure-dense and sticky...very solid
G-13 -unknown sources- this could be (one of) the clone form... or it could be a back-cross... perhaps someone more knowledgable could help me out...
Smell-hard to put your finger on at first... earthy, hashy... and it took me several smokes to figure it out, but it seems to have some of that indescribable Kush-like aspects to it...
Taste-tastes like it smells... very lung expanding here too... not very harsh, smooth smoke.
Effect- indica effects... the whole 'i'm thrirsty, but i'm not sure i can will myself up to get something from the fridge... ah well fuck it'... i found it more pleasant than i find most indicas to be...
Bud Structure-solid... but nicely cured. good trich coverage... i have a feeling this stuff would make great hash...
And now... i decided that after a 2 month cure it's time to do a report on my most recent batch of home grown... Nirvana's White Rhino... 2 very distinct phenos of it...
White Rhino (White Pheno) -Nirvana-
Smell-Delicious strong lemon smell to it... it should be noted that this pheno ended up with very sativa leaves near the end, despite it's short stature...
Taste-awsome taste... i flushed this plant for no less than 2 1/2 weeks... lemons just like the smell... it burns quick and can be a little harsh in the bong... but it smokes super smooth in a joint...
Effect-this one has a nice balance to it... it's a straight hybrid kinda high. you feel like you're not sure if you have the will to do anything active... but it's okay cause you can't really come up with anything to do anyway... ah well smoke more...
Bud Structure- a little less dense than i would expect from something with such strong indica growth patterns (plant was less than 3 feet tall and yielded almost 3 oz.s)... great trich coverage...
White Rhino (Purple Pheno) -Nirvana- or as i like to call her 'Purple Rhino'
Smell- piney... like opening a big cedar chest or something...
Taste-tastes like it smells... the taste carries through well... a little bit harsh... this plant probobly could have gone another week...
Effect-more indica than her sister... lays you out... big time munchies with this pheno... easily the best purple weed i've ever smoked
Bud Structure-thick and dense... less trich coverage than her sister, though i think it has breeding potential for those who want to make a super strong all purple strain...
