5 days in 12/12, and still can't sex?

Ok, this is a new one for me, and even though I am not an old hand at growing, I'm a bit confused. My plant is about 9 weeks old, and the last 5 days she's(?) Been in 12/12, and while there are tons of pre-flowers, I can't find any pistils. Everything looks like a teardrop type shape, which gives me hope, but there are no hairs!

I wonder if this strain is a bit slow. It's bagseed, which seemed like about a 50/50 hybred, effect wise at least.

What is the longest you've had to wait after going 12/12 to see pistils and know for sure?

Have you got any pics? I've had female-looking 'pre-buds' before which turned out to be male. Hopefully not in your case. I had one durban poison plant that went a full 19 days 12/12 before showing her little hairs to me. Good luck.

In my experience, I find that late showers are normally female

5 days in 12/12 is not long enough. IMO males tend to ''show'' their sex sooner than females. 2 weeks in 12/12 should be easier to tell the sex. I have had plants that took longer. Check for light pollution. Then stop sweating the load.

Yes, I agree that 5 days is not long enough. My SuperSilverHaze and Skunk Haze took about 10 days+ after vegging for over a month.

I won't tell you not to sweat it though because we all sweat out this part LOLOL!!

Nirvana's Snow Whites took 21-25 days to show sex. Five days isn't really long enough to begin showing...

The pic is sideways, but the node to the far right is the topmost budsite on the plant. One node below it is where I saw my first set of female flowers...

She does look pretty, though, and worst case, I'll butane hash it if it is a male.

carefull though if you see like a hook at the very top it is an indication of male but then again 5 days is inda early to be making exact ID of male or female, but if there is something present like the tear drop you mentioned, even though the pistill arent pronounced very good if you use some magnification you should at least see a little split were the hairs are just barely poking out ( female), or if there is a little overlap and it appears to be raised a little it might be male,

last month in skunk or one of the weed mags there was a.....okay not skunk, it was the december issue of high times. the article is called "sexing you plants with mel frank", should be called early sexing w/mel frank.

it show you how to use the most virtually indistinguishable pre flower and what to look for to determine male/female look it up or you might be able to back order it, cause high times is on their febuary issue already.

Ok, I think I have my answer - there are several areas that have 2 of the pre-floers together, which I figure is the male "clustering".

I think it might be a hermie, though, which is better than nothing!
