Yes indeed! New to this board (not new to horticulture) but am new to tents! Anyways..this is alot diff from my last go round a couple years ago (10x12 insulated metal building /open ventilation system)
So Im putting a 600 watt hps on one side and the phantom 315cmh on the other. I really want to see what I can get with a mere 9 something odd watts.
Ill most like do a dwc/top drip on the cmh side to help the 315 out to compete with the 600..haha.
Well I have my light and footprint setup and ran some temp test today....i dont like it.
Both running with 390 cfm going through cool hood and open around the cmh....91 degrees..thats with a 120cfm 4 inch intake of cold mountain air (around 30degrees) No good for me....Ive always shot for around high 70s but I do realize that will be very challenging in such an enclosed space.
The coolhood has glass...my cmh doesnt because i want to use it for tent exhaust too.
Setup for outtake: inline fan...ducting..coolhood 600...ducting..cmh (no glass)...
Solution 1....replace 6" outake 390 with 8" 710 that will run through cool hood and into cmh...will be responsable for cooling bulbs and exhaust. Add 6 inch intake
Solution 2...Run another 390 in other side (2 outakes...one for each bulb and also does tent exhaust) Add 6 inch intake
Solution 3...(prolly best) enclose cmh with glass...run 6 - 8 inch just for bulb cooling
Run 6 inch for tent exhaust. 6 inch fan into 2-4 inch intake ducts ( one fan with more spread intake flow)
I like this as ive always found...cooler lights...closer penetration...larger flowers.
Or ask the good people of ic....
How in the world are you guys cooling HIDS in these tents? Tricky stuff. I have an old industrial 670 watt 2500 cfm...but it would suck the walls in! Haha.....
Btw fans im using AC infinity s6 and ac infinity booster raxial 6 for intake. (Awsome duct booster).
Goal: HID in 4x8 tent with temps around mid 80s max.
Ive heard some you tent guys doing like 3 315s in a 4x8 even 2 1ks....tips welcome!
I have equivalent of AC....I have a window with 30 degree avg temps outside! Right behind tent!
Ok let this old schooler have it.... (Please do not recommend i switch LED)
