4x8 tent - 2000w - Need fan & reflector input

I'm setting up a 240w SJ tent with 2k air cooled.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353129571.086154.jpg

Going to use a can lite 6" or 8" depending on outcome of fan/reflector.

I'm leaning towards a S&P 8" because it's the quietest and I'm running 2 other 6" S&P's in same room and it's the same sound/frequency...

Or a Can Fan 6"? I think the s&p is rated more cfm but seems like the can still blows more air.

For reflector I was thinking the Silverstar 6" or 8"...

All the xxl hoods seem way too heavy for 2 inline in a tent?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

cool gear man. i run 3 lumatek 6's over a 4x8. i was sold on super sun 2's by pico and his THOROUGH testing on several common reflectors with light meters and whatnot. good read. super sun 2s are slim and light and throw out a very nice and even spread. since you are running 1ks you will have to hand them high anyways so you will get a good spread with just about anything.

my can fan max is only rated 334 cfm or something like that put it has very good static pressure and can keep up with all my bends/curves and filter. i would do a max fan in the 600+ cfm. if youre worried about sound mount the fan in an insulated box. if u arent handy to build a wooden box with nifty hinges and holes for the ductwork ive used a rubbermade with duct holes on each side and lined with lots of foam. also with insulated ductwork you will kill MOST of the whooshing air noise.

like all things in this hobby there are way too many options and variables. i like too much air flow than not enough any day. its easier to insulate then cool off a whole room

I'm worried about the height issues in the tent with air cooled hoods.

In my 4x4 which is the same height as the 4x8, I have my maverick sun superwide reflector to the max height because of how deep the shade is, and that the light gets thrown straight down...

What style reflector would best suit a 1000w bulb in a tent?

I'm thinking maybe cool tubes with shades would have the lowest profile

I am installing a canlite 6" filter on my Canfan Max 6. I have to say I am very pleased with the canfan max 6. It is very quiet, quieter than the 6" HO model. Uses less power as well. I think if you want to avoid having to build a sound box for your fan this may do it. There is the canfan max 8 as well. The can-lite filters are lighter without sacrificing capacity or performance. As long as you can fit all those ducts in there properly cool tubes should be a great choice.

I turned the canfan 6 on at the grow store and it was way louder than the S&P 8"...

I think I'm getting the s&p... I got 3 more
Of em, they are great fans. I do like the can fan 6 though... I just feel it is higher pitched than the 8" s&p. Thanks for the input... If I'm not happy with the s&p prolly switch it up for the can 6.

Defiantly stoked on the can lite filters.. The 6" replaces a can 66... And those
Things are freaking heavy... Thanks baby Jesus for the lite line.

I think the item I need to dial down is my reflector options now...

Im just about to set up with a grolab 4x8. 2kw.2 4x4 flood tables. each with their own 100gallon rez. (reduce flushes).co2 is just on injection and not generator yet.
trying to debate how many plants to go in each table. in 6" pots, i could do 64/table. or reduce that with a week of veg. going to do one try hydroton and one tray rockwool cubes to get the final say so on that. (using all dutchmaster gold nutes ph5.5 with the rock wool).
also have a side 2/4 room with a flood table to experiencet with . and a clone lab tento keep it rolling.
how many plants do you recommend on a 4x4 with 1000w over it? im approaching the SOG method but its just such high numbers. i feel like i should just loose a week and, keep numbers lower while creating a robust root system by veging for a moment.
Thoughts on this?

Also, i love the canfan maxfan. 6"+ sizes. three variable speed controls built in. smallest size, pretty quite and light, moves more air than i need so far usually. really cheap from certain websites if you hunt around. like 120$. one on low setting easily cools my 600w. im guessing one on high setting will cool the inline 2000watters, especially if its a close system from outside to outside.

cheers!

Sunlight Supply has the new Blazer reflector which is only 7" tall. As for the fan I'd go with the 8" especially since the noise is lower. You'll pay more up front on the fan and filter, but you can expand down the road if you wanted to.

Best of luck to you.

For thoueys .... I'd use the S&P 8" with blockbuster 8" hoods . I rans 600's in 6" blockbusters with a 6" ventilation system & they worked pretty good . the blockbusters are 24" square & have a 9" depth which give ya plenty of hieght in a 4 x 8 tent .

heres what mine looked like ....

CG .... so what did ya decide on ?
i set up a 2k watt tent recently myself & went with 8" exhaust . a can 66 filter 8" Max fan & 8" block busters . the tent runs 2 degrees difference than the bedroom with lights full blaze :)
i used 2 6: intakes , fan forced by one 6" fan on a speedster , to keep negative pressure .

if ya went 8" ..... wise decision !!!

Back to the noise issue on the fan, I hung mine with those black bungee cords and it cuts out ALL of the vibration noise. My fan is located directly below our living room and you can't here a thing while sitting down tv off, not worried at all to have guests over. For reflectors I'm a vert guy so your on your own with that brotha
