4X10x4 Should I use 3 400s or 2 600s?

I have a space thats 4ft wide X 10ft long x 4ft high I cant decide if i should use 3 400W or 2 600W lights. I'll be growing in 3 gallon grow bags...with FoxFarm Organic Potting Soil.. The plants cant get very tall higher than 3ft. Also if anyones growing in Fox Farm soil you have any ferts recomendations? I havent bought anything yet but here is a mock list of things ive gathered ill need.

1ea.- OZN-JR Ozone Junior Generator
50ea.- Grow Bag - 1 Gallon
50ea.- Grow Bag - 3 Gallon
1ea.- pH Control Kit w/ Up & Down
1ea.- Accurate PH 2 & PPM 2.5 Meters Kit w/ 16oz Solutions
1ea.- PROfilter 45s Carbon Filter 4"
1ea.- Vortex Powerfan 4"
1ea.- Backdraft Damper 4"
1ea.- Duct Tubing 4" x 25'
Do i need a carbon filter if i use this OZN-Jr? Claims it eliminates odor as well?

This'll be my first indoor grow so im open to all suggestions and alll comments if you any experience with any of these products.

I would go with 3 x 600 watt over an area that size!!!

But if that's not possible, then 2 x 600 watt...

4 ft isnt very high after u hang your lights you will have about 3 ft then u got to keep the lights 10 to 12 inches above the plants that leaves u with about 2 feet theres no way you could fit 3 gallon buckets underneath and grow plants

I'm growing in a 54 inch tall space with an 18 gallon bucket. But then I'm running a smaller 250 CMH lamp, so I can stay within an inch or two canopy.

Check out the CMH thread. Cooler than HPS or Metal Halide. With 400's and cool tubes you may be able to trim the space eaten up by the lamp. ScROG would also help control height. My sativa hits 7-8 feet in the wild, I kept it under 22 inches. Depending on your hand size, you only need 4-6 inches of space under the screen. Some are doing a "reverse" ScROG. Instead of growing under the screen, they place the screen flush with the top of the bucket. The plant is then bent over and tied down to the top of the screen rather than being pushed under.

you will probably want to go with 6 inch ducting(2x25ft) and fans and air cooled hoods...dont forget clamps and speed controllers for the fans. flower at about a foot tall no more.

with 4 foot height id stay with 400 cmh & run 4

if you can cut the space into 2 rooms you can get away with 2 ballast n flop it over to a 2nd set of hood's/lights....

also with that space i think you would be ok with 2 gallon pot's imo

thanks for hitting me with the links to the cMH so let me get this straight there cheaper, there brighter, and more energy efficient wow! who knows how to put together one of these ballasts from advance yech?

4 ft high?? the hood is almost a foot thick and the planter is usualy atleast 6 inch deep... id go with 400, burning in flower is definately a seriouse issue,

thats nice freezer, good use of your 250. maybe you should even run like that, 400 might even be too hot after seeing freezers plants.

i have not put one of the ballast kits together but i found this place that sale's custom ballast to your liking's. 2-3-4 ballast in one unit like a command center and its pre wired for what ever hood you want when you get it its plug and grow they will even do built in timers/flipflops if you want that, everything they do is built to order and pretty cheap www.norcalponics.com
