4th of July

So we all know that the 4th of July means fireworks, so how would you rate the shows in your areas??


around here it isnt anything too special, your run of the mill pyrotechnics but the cool part is they do it from a high point overlooking the town i live in so theres no need to "go to the fireworks". i get to be wherever i want smoking as much as i please with no fear of LEO and a little something to keep me entertained between rips.

well RKR since you asked....this will be the first 4th of july in quite a few years that i didnt set up a fireworks show. Im a pyro tech and we do small to medium shows(from 4-20k $ in fireworks), usualyl a five man crew but weve gotten things done with three. And yes we shooot off barges, piers you name it....the biggest shell weve poppped was a 16 inch shell wich was amazing, the pop that thing made was incredible. What i do is set up the 'racks" wich look like tube like mortars encased in wooden structure, after setting up the different sizes 4", 5", 6 " 8 " etc etc (placement, angles...setting up the finally) if its not a hand lit show we set up the "squibs" and link up the black match(fuses) for chains.....most of the 4th of july shows are done electronically so once we set up we can just kick back behind the protective enclosure and just watch the show ourselves.
I will try to dig up some pics of an older show we did on a barge....i think i put them up on OG some time ago...but there is nothing more fun than settting up a few hundred pounds of dynamite around you...blowing it all up to a cheering crowd!!! the scary part is when its all over with and youve cooled it all down and you gotta handle the 'duds" tahts the real scary part!!! and no we cant keep the 'duds', id love to be able to keep a 4" bomb and set it off laater but those things are loud and im pretty sure you can get in alotta trouble...
This fourth of july im going across the street to the park and gettting smashed!! and watch the show for once from a safe distance and not inhale burnt cardboard or black match...should be a nice change!!!!!(lookin for pics now)!!!

p.s. if you like adrenaline rushes...do a fireworks show

i dont know, just not big on the whole thing, a lil too nationalistic for me. Shit, i mean cmon we dont celebrate the holocaust for some good reasons and this lil HOLYday can be the equivalent for many,you know what i mean?

I think its great that familes get together and get to spend some time together, but i cant stand the the poisonous nationalist dogma that is also very much common place, and here it comes...

yeah i know that we americans arent very popular around the world right now, but shit it is our country's birthday and can't we celebrate it for what it is? i know we americans arent very popular, but it is a day when we can get together in fellowship and drink some beers smoke some j's and eat food cooked over our bbq's. i just got back from watching chicago's fireworks at taste of chicago, and they were the shit.

For one thing i dont say what i say out of what u call hate, i say it out of love for my country(land and nature) and the people that happen to inhabit it at the moment.
