4kw sealed, first indoor soil run

Hey guys, long time outdoor grower here. This is my third indoor run in a sealed 4kw room. First two runs were coco, this run I was forced to do a soil run, so here I am.

12 large sativas in 5G pots roots 707 per 4x4. xxl hoods with hortilux bulbs, dimmable quantum ballasts. Scrogged and heavily pruned. 900-1000 ppm co2, 80~ day temps, 70~ night temps, 65% humidity.

This strain is super prone to PM. I just gave em their last neem oil spray at the end of week 3, I have also used Green Cure and Serenade earlier in bloom. I know the PM will come back, how late into bloom can I use the Serenade and GreenCure? I need something I can spray/fog all the way through flower, because it WILL come back.

I have tons of fans in the room, and have pruned them heavily to discourage PM and encourage FATTIE colas. I will also slowly drop RH% throughout the finish, but even at 40%rh the PM will show up. I'm a firm believer in VPD levels, which is why I chose to run high humidity as much of the cycle as possible.

I've done 2 heavy prunes at day 10 and day 16 of flower, I may need to go around again and remove the last bits of potential larf that I missed.

I give them an occasional compost tea, and Roots Buddah Grow/Bloom, and I also bought a jug of Botanicares Pure Blend Pro to give em a different nutrient profile every few waterings. I've topdressed whatever type of Roots Organic flower topdressing they sell at the hydro store as well, I'm going to top dress once more in the next few days. I sometimes add EJ Micro as well as a fulvic product. I tried to make a homemade 5g bucket brewer but I'm not feeling very confident in it, lol.

I'll update with pix in the next day or so.

I also have some fungus gnats. Little fliers that chill around the soil. I dusted each of the pots with some of the mosquito dunks, but it didn't seem to kill all the fliers and it's been around 10 days or so. Would a DE topdress kill the fungus gnats chillin around the soil?

Finally an update, enjoy the show Vanilla, glad to have you.

Today is day 30.

Week ago I pruned em back AGAIN, for the 3rd time in bloom. I coulda taken even more off, but I'll see what happens this way.

Got my 5g brewer goin pretty nicely although I haven't used it. 260gph pump 1/2" line with two outlets just above water level, and a 60 watt air pump with 2 large air stones. Could do 3 if necessary, two seems to do an incredible job on its own.

I FUCKED up 2 days ago. Ive been watering the plants at 3 day intervals, which i just about when the pots start to get pretty light, but the plants don't wilt yet. So after their last strong feeding, I decided to only give them strong dose of hydro-store vortex brewed compost tea, with a 1/3 dosage of PBP Soil formula. I turned all the lights off, and proceeded to fog my room with a max dose (2 TBSP per G) of GreenCure (similar to baking soda) as a PM killer. Maybe I didn't wait long enough to turn all the lights back on, or maybe I didn't wait long enough for the roots to absorb enough moisture into the plants to make sure the leaves wouldn't get burned, but I burnt em.

I also fogged all my clones/teens with this formula. The only thing affected was about 1/3 of all the flowering ribbon tops, maybe more. Just burned quite a bit of hairs on a lot of the tops, went from pure white to orange, some brown. Didn't hurt the middles or bottoms much if at all. I sprayed them again last night with pure water to hopefully wash off any residue.

Either way, here's some pics. These 2 were taken a day before the fogging incident.

These were taken the day after, when I noticed they were burnt. I had just washed the plants off with pure water.

Stop growing a strain that is prone to PM. Get your RH below 50% earlier. Spray heavily every 10-14 days with Actinovate. Good luck -granger

I love the strain, and I may have exaggerated how aggressive the mildew is. Last round I didnt prune as heavily and had less airflow. This round, after 2 weeks, I was just finding SLIGHT spotting on some of the leaves. Thats when I decided to fog with greencure, and hit em too strong/didnt let em dry out enough. Stupid mistake.

I tried to grab actinovate, but I guess its banned in cali now? Stupid law changes, I think it had to do with labeling. Ill find some online for sure though.

Would it be a terrible idea to foliar with a ewc/molasses compost tea?

Ive been running 55% humidity for 4 or 5 days, ill drop it more tonight at lights on.

I got some actinovate on the way, gonna brew a tea in the next few days. The last foliar wasn't too long ago and should keep the mildew away for a while longer. RH is at 45% now as well, and I have added a 6" inline fan at ground level just to circulate a bunch more air under the canopy.

Most importantly, plants are doing great. Colas are still developing rapidly, lots of new white hairs absolutely everywhere, starting to pack on the crystals and the stank.

I'll have some closeups for ya next time.
