400w White/Purple Rhino Grow (flowering pics)

i suppose this is more to get some pics out there than anything else at this point. i stupidly didn't have a hard copy of dates and other important things, so when OG went down , so did all my info... but anyway...

these are my two white rhinos. from nirvana stock and purchased from Gypsy's shop on the Singel. they are now @ 50+ days flowering. one of them is flowering a dark purple, the other one good old standard green.

anyway, without further ado... my white (and purple) rhino grow...

I like the purple Rhino. All I've ever grown is the white pheno. Do you know if it smokes any different?

How long are you planning to flower those girls, GBS? Somebody over on OG suggested at least 10 days longer than usual, which in my case would be 70 days. Guess I could check the trichs, but my impression is that in general, WR needs a little extra time to fully bulk out and ripen up.

yeah, the general concensus is that WR isn't hurt by letting it go a little longer... there was a thread on OG where some dude was trying to stabalize the purple pheno in Nirvana's WR... i only popped 5 seeds, ended up with 2 females, and one of them is the purple pheno so it can't be too rare...

the purple plant is more indica in nature, where the white one has very slender leaves now that she's nearing the end. the purple one will be finished well before next week. i don't have a magnifying glass to check the trichs so i'll be judging by pistol/hair coloration. on the purple they're at about 40% orange, on the white one they're about 20%... if it continues in this way the purple one will be done by the end of next week. she's looking to yield in the neighborhood of 2 oz.s ... which i'd be perfectly happy with...

i haven't smoked any purple rhino, but generally purple bud has a strange, strong sweet taste that can be overpowering in the thickness of smoke and whatnot when you hit it out of a bong. but then i've never seen purple pot that had this much resin on it...

Nice job on the Rhinos. My last grow I had the same thing happen as you did, 1 purple and 1 standard green. If you check in my gallery the pics of the purple are in there,( I can't figure out how to attach them to the post yet). Anyways, mine were from Nirvana as well, I've had good luck with that Rhino strain.

As to how they smoke, after about a month jar cure the purple was smooth but not overpowering like the "regular" pheno. Actually a bit harsh to be truthful. It did have a fruity aftertaste though. I personally like the "green" Rhino as far as taste and aroma go.

yeah, not sure what part of the lineage accounts for the purple pheno... does anyone know if Greenhouse's or Shanti's (aka Medecine Man...Mr. Nice Seeds) has a purple pheno?

anyway, the purple one looks like it will be done by the end of next week... on or around the 18th, so i'm looking forward to that. the white pheno... hard to say, just when it seemed like it was ripening up it has shown a whole new explosion of new white hairs... i'm just gonna let her keep going until she tells me otherwise... yeah sometimes you get so caught up in the growing part that you almost forget the whole harvesting/smoking aspect...

I like both the purple and the white rhino's my self. But if I were to choose which looks better it would be the purple. Nice work... YG

Well, i'll agree with you half-way Young Giver.... the PICTURES of the purple plant look better...in person it's quite noticable that the white pheno has a SHITLOAD more trichs on it... the main reason the purple looks so nice in these pics is cause it's closer to being fully ripe...

stay tuned for the purple harvest pics everybody... they're coming this week, i can feel it...
