400w ScrOG Cab grow 6x 2g pots (First grow posted on IC)

Ok people lets try this again. I apologize for the inconvenience but I messed up my other thread and now the link takes you to a server error page. Now I have to type everything again but its ok because I just smoked a FATTY. :dance013:
ANYWAYS……

Intro
Hello there again fellow IC members. It’s nice to finally post a thread of my own. Although this will be my first thread, I’ve been browsing through the IC forums here and there for a couple years now. Just a few days ago I came across a thread by LOKILOKI and it inspired me to start my own thread IN TRIBUTE TO LOKILOKI’s grow. Thanks for the inspiration LOKI! I’ve had a few micro grows under my belt, but this is my first time using an HID. I’m a 20 years old and have a lot to learn. I’ve recently read a thread posted by mariematt about pH. In the beginning he said “A GOOD GROWER HAS LEARNED, A GREAT GROWER NEVER STOPS LEARNING.” I don’t know if these are his words, but regardless, wise words none the less. So PLEASE share your thoughts, opinions, ideas, or suggestions.

Ok time to roll up a FATTY everybody. Here we go…..

Setup

FLOWER CAB
My buddy is in construction and is pretty decent (better than I am) with carpentry so I had him put this together for me. The cost was around $80.

Dimensions: Width- 36”, Depth- 20”, Height- 48”

Lighting: 400 watt HPS/MH w/ dimmable ballast

Ventilation: Exhaust- 265cfm Dayton Blower, Intake- 3” passive intakes (2)

Pots: 2 Gallon (6)

Medium: 2/3 FFOF, 1/3 Perlite, 2tbs/gallon Dolomite lime

Strains: Blue Dream (4), Obama OG, Platinum OG

Nutrients: Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, Grow Big, Beastie Buds, Cha Ching, Superthrive

Note: I am missing a few bottles off the FF nutrients line (Bushdoctors, open sesame) because next grow I plan on using coco with Flora Nova nutes and I’m trying to finish off the fox farm nutes.

MOTHER BOX
Yes I got this idea from LifeLess (thanks LL!
thank%20you.gif
) only his setup is much cleaner. I used 2 18 gallon rubbbermaids. Cost was like 35 bucks.

Ventilation: 4” comp fan for exhaust, 2” passive intake

Lighting: 3x 23w CFLs (24/24)

Mom strains: OG, Platinum OG, Obama OG, and Blue Dream

CLONE BOX
I used to use this for my micro, micro grows. It’s a gutted computer case. For cloning I use a bubble cloner modeled after Thunderkel’s (thanks Thunderklel
thank%20you.gif
) with 6 sites and a bubble bar.

Reservoir: 2.5L

Air pump: 30g-50g dual pump

Water- Tap water w/ pH of 8.0

Note: I have tried using pH down to lower the pH between 6.0 and 7.0 with no better results than using just straight up tap water. Anyone else use a bubble cloner? If you do what pH is the water that you use?

Things I still need to do:

-Put up the mylar
-Go buy a clip fan for internal circulation
-Set up my screen

If i missed something or you have a question about my set up please ask so i can clarify for everyone. Also, PLEASE post suggestions, ideas, or opinions. I need ALL the help i can get. I will post updates hopefully once or twice a week with pics.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!

Hey everybody. I just barely put up the mylar, screen, and fans today. I sure learned my lesson. Next time I am just going to make my own screen some how. I bought a roll of fencing with small squares probably about 1/2" squares! So I cut 4x4 squares with a dremmel across the whole damn thing LOL. Took forever! LESSON LEARNED:bashhead:

i will probably put it in flowering in another 3 weeks. Lets see some replies people!:comfort:

Here are the pics...

March 1st update

March 1st update

So the plan was to flower on the 12th of March but I'm not sure if it will fill the screen by then, it might need another week. Check out these pics and let me know what you think. It has been 4 days since i put on the screen so that would only be 16 days of veg with the screen. Anyways here are the pics....

March 6th update 6 more days till flower

March 6th update 6 more days till flower

Sup everyone looks like i might just be able to flower on the 12th. The other day I did find some bugs under the leaves of the platinum. I think they were mites. There were no webs sooo i dunno what the hell they are. Sprayed with Organocide and now theres no more bugs, but to be sure i will be spraying them down with a different pesticidal soap before flowering just to be sure. Anyways heres the pics...

They did get a little burnt by the Organocide so can anyone recommend a gentler alternative?

BUG PROBLEM PLEASE HELP!

BUG PROBLEM PLEASE HELP!

so i found some mites under a few leaves a couple days ago so i sprayed my organocide and a couple hours later they were all gone or dead. Today i found more mites that were alive so i sprayed it again and finished my bottle of organocide and after reading the thread on mites in the infirmary forum i plan on getting some floramite.

Anyone have experience with Floromite or any other VERY effective pesticide other than organocide im trying to switch it up.

PLEASE HELP ME!

Also is that just mite damage or do u guys see other things too?

Thanks man appreciate the help DrFever, they do look a little hungry. As for your neem oil suggestion, are you saying literally submerge the entire plant or are you just basically saying drench it with a mister/sprayer?

hmmm yea this is gunna be somewhat of a challenge. When DrFever first told me to submerge them I thought about turning them upside-down and putting some cling wrap over the tops of the pots so when I turn them upside down the soil doesnt fall out. Is this what you do?

So Im definately gunna go with the neem oil idea... What do you guys put in your mix? Just neem oil? Other stuff? What measurements do you guys use? Dyna Gro ok to use?

Thanks for the help fellas. I probly would have just bought a bottle of safer and hoped for the best. mites probly would have came back during flower LOL

yes you turn plant upside down what i did was buy 1 liter of neem oil made a 50 liter batch of it in a large drum place plant upside down into moving it up n down for like 3 mins then carefully stood them back up
for large plants i tied plant stems up as best as i could and did same and dunked upside down then placed plants in dark place with fan blowing on them so they would be dry before light go back on
do it every 4 days thats the life cycle of a spider mite egg to hatch ling
neem oil is 15 ml per gallon of water with 4 drops of soap i like to add little more soap thats what makes them eggs wash off leafs once you do it 4 days later repeat it
then to be really safe do it again so total 3 times

Awesome, I will be taking a trip to the hydro store today for sure for a bottle of neem oil. I have 2 questions:

1. I plan on flowering on the 12th of March (3 days), and now I'm guessing I'm going to have to push it back and flower the day of or after the 3rd soaking right?

2. For the soap any dish soap will suffice correct?

you canb use neem oil up to 4th week in flower with no issues neem oil is natural not a poison i compliment my room with neem oil on a weekly basis in all stages of growth up to week 4 - 5 in flower
you just need to make sure plants are dry when lights come on is all
as for soap yes dish soap make sure mixture is really soapy bubbly etc
palmolive i personally like lemon fresh

3/13

3/13

So I've decided to get my pest control in order before I start flowering. I bought the neem oil on saturday and I took off the screen submerged the plants dried them... the whole 9 yards and I plan on doing this one more time so i can start my flowering already :woohoo:. Tomorrow i will submerge the plants in the neem oil mixture one more time and I will porbably start flowering Friday.

At this point I'm not sure if I will put the screen back on because I have been trying to figure out a way to flush them without taking off the screen so i dunno what to. It would be way easier to just take them one by one to the tub next door. I will post another update probably Thursday or Friday... thanks for your helps guys

they look a shit load better there buddy flushing can be a pain i use big totes 25 gallon ones all i did was make a 1 " hole in bottom corner lift tote up with bricks and start flushing with pan to catch returns you can do the same thing for yours make a hole in a corner lift it up when you flush have a catch tray you realize with scrog method you will lots of room under scrog to work as for your timming lower half of plant ???

Thanks man I really appreciate the help. That neem oil bath worked like a charm. I dont think I'm going to put the screen back on this run. I cant seem to find a tote that fits my cab, they either don't fit in the cab or dont fit my pots in them. puting the screen back on at this point just seems like too much work but for sure as soon as this grow is done it's going back on. Also I just recently trimmed the lower parts of my plants, you'll see in the picks that I take tomorrow.

12/12 starts right now I will have pics of them in flowering tomorrow. but for now heres some pics i took yesterday when I soaked them in neem oil.

before i soaked them the second time...

Taped cling wrap on the pots...

they look great wait a week after flower and start cleaning up more of the bottom leafs etc dont go to fast as you may stress plants but by 3rd week of flower you should have 1/4 of lower branches cleaned up this way plant will use all its energy into to bid growth rather then having fluffy buds on bottom then every week keep trimming the new bud growth on very bottom as they will keep trying to form buds on lower part of plant
