400w of stanky in the C-25...

After a couple grows in the new setup I think I've got it figured out well enough to do a diary to hopefully give other peeps some ideas. Granted that most of my knowledge was gotten from OG so I'm just passing it down.
And I'm just starting to flower two new strains to me, and I want a picture record for myself incase one of them turns out to be mother worthy I know what to do and not to do better...

I'm growing in a Mills Pride C-25 cab with air cooled hood and 400w HPS from HTGsupply.com. Passive intake through a 8"x8" dark room lavour and a 4" Vortex fan pushing air into a Cannon carbon filter keep the cab no more than 5 deg above ambient.


And the ladies in the cab are....

The plant on the left is supposedly Kwik Kali, and the one on the right is a cross that I've been working on for about a year now. I almost wonder if some stoned night early on before they got too distinguishable in the seed/seedling stage repotting or somthing the tags got mixed up on these two... These are new genetics for me and clones have been taken so I'm hopeing for something worth mothering.

unknownone thanks dude! It may not be the most well utilized cab for space etc, but it produces more than enough bud for me to smoke, and its all top notch
I'm not sure who's NL it is. I got her in clone form about 6 months ago from a friend. I know that he bought a feminized pack of seeds, but thats about it.

Soil
All of the plants except the two youngest ones are growin in LC's organic mix #1 (5 parts peat, 3 parts perlite, 2 parts castings, and 1 cup dolomite lime per cubic ft). After some of the readings from the 3LB that have been reserected by the 3BM over in the organics section I am using recycled organic soil...

We'll see how well that works out for me.

Nutes
Pure Blend veg and bloom, Liquid Karma, Indonesian bat guano, and blackstrap molases is the only additives these plants have seen. I ordered some new goodies that showed up in the mail yesterday that I have yet to even open. I'm hopeing these AN products will help get my buds to the next level. Tarantula, Piranna, Grandma Engy's Fulvic Acid, and Final Phase.

Yesterday was water/feeding day for a couple of my plants. My 57 day NL got a shot of final phase along with the water. I haven't tried this before, so I'm hopeing it actually does something worthwhile. Harvest will be within the next week...

The two youngest plants both got a 3/4 strength feeding of PBP soil bloom, and a full strength additive application of LK, fulvic acid, tarantula, & piranna. The cross took it all like a champ and is showing no ill signs at all. The kwik kali on the other hand is showing a fairly decent case of nute burn. Which surprises me for a 3/4 organic feeding during a heavy growth stage... I'll give a decent flush of plain water when due and see how she likes that.

UN - Thanks dude! Glad to see you stoppin in It's so nice to have a mother plant that produces such uniform clones that are nice chunky and covered in crystals. What can I say, she makes me look good
The cross...My first grow I had a bagseed that took 85 days to flower. It wasn't a heavy yielder or that great of a plant, but the high was clean and heady with a decent spicey sweet taste. I crossed her with a nice looking squaty Ice male. Those offspring turned out much branchier, with tighter buds and more resin, and maintained a nice heady high. Unfortunatly the taste suffered for some reason... I crossed the best of those females with a Papaya that was so beautiful I almost cryed when balls started popping out. All the females from that batch had a nice sweet taste, so I'm hopeing that goes into this new cross. BagxIcexPapaya

The KK was actually showing burn spots instead of just some leaf curl when I got home today from work. She is currently in the process of a hard flush (2x container volume).

Both youngsters are starting to show the first signs of trichs out on the bud leaves. Looking like they're going to have the potential of being so resin producers

The twins are starting to get nice and chunky. Originally I topped them because they were about to outgrow my veg box way before there was room in the flower cab. Now that they are getting closer to harvest I'm thinking this NL pheno will be a higher yielder when topped... Its hard to tell, the single cole version sure does have a monster up top

I harvested the single cola NL tonight. I think 62 days...she yielded 150g wet, so if I lose 75% to water etc I should still end up with about 1.25 oz. Not too bad for a untrained plant under 2ft tall.


My problems continue with the KK. The flush has stopped the problem from spreading, but it hasn't improved yet either... My guess is that this strain preferes a lower soil ph than the rest that I have.

kindred1 Ya the single 8x8 keeps me within a couple degrees of ambient. When the summer rolls around and ambient temps go up I might have to add another... The cords come in through a small hole at the top left of the cab. Its an ugly mess up there, but its light proof so who cares . I think there are some more pics of the cab in my gallery. If you want to know something about the grow ask away.


jaypee89 thanks dude! I keep my plants under or right at 2ft tall. I think my 400 does a good enough job to just let them grow how they want at that height, I'm also kinda lazy when it comes to training... My last mother just got put into flower a couple days ago, and I've done a small amount of LST to her.

My new batch of clones just starting to show roots at the edges of the dixie cups. NL and some AK


The twins are at day 55 and 53. They will both start the 7-10 day flush with Final Phase tomorrow. Harvesting these two sounds like a good way to start the new year to me.


The KK's nute/ph problems have been fixed. It stunted her pretty bad and looks like it will add at least a couple weeks onto the harvest. My cross plant went bananas and is now in the hash bin. My two attempts at getting a new mother aren't looking so good right now

im just about to depart on my first grow ever, its goin to be a 400watt ikea cabinet , which is almost exactly the same size as the c13. you said you had three trees in the sucker didnt you? ive got some feminised NL from whitelabel and also some freebie blueberry seeds from serious seeds i got from a frend. finished construction on the closet itself and was just about to germinate when we got word that my girlfriends mum is coming up for a weekend with her friend who is..get this..allergic to electricity, cant even have the oven on, so you can imagine what would happen with me running a light,ballast and fans 18 hours a day in our little apartment..
so im finetuning and stuf aand biding my time.
im going to be keeping a close eye on your grow man see if i cant learn a few things.
hey btw whats the cfm on your fan?

I keep up to 8 flowering plants in my cab at a time. My last couple clone runs have kinda sucked because of cold temps, but the flowering cab loves it My fan is the 4" Vortex, 172cfm I think?


I harvested the first of the twins a week ago. Today is the second day in the jar for her. 220g wet, 51.5g when she went in the jar.

Here is whats left in the C-25 as of tonight... Left is my AK mother, she's only been in a couple days. The middle plant is the ph/nute disaster Kali Kwik. And the far right plant is the old NL mother.



And last but not least, my project for the rest of the evening... NL twin #2. Cold temps and an extra week in flower with final phase have drained her nicely, bringing out a nice purple hue to the tips of the calaxes and leaf tips I'll update with some harvest pics later.

I figured I should do this before I break into the harvest reward of fresh scissor hash

Here she is all cut up. 273.3g wet! I wasn't sure if topping this NL pheno would increase yield or not...My last two untopped plants weighed in at 170 & 150g wet, the topped ones at 220 & 273!! : I think I'll stick with topping them. BTW if I lose 80% of that to water I'll still get 55g

thats a really nice harvest man, i hope i can match it one day. and yes she really is allergic to electricity, sweden is, i think one of the only countries that recognises it as a real disability, hahaha im from australia and if she said this there they would just laugh. maybe she just needs a good smoke.

Nothing new and exciting going on with the grow right now. The one is hanging, and the other 3 are just doin their thing.
About 6 months ago I did a Rhino grow and went out of town in that important 2nd-3rd week of flower and ended up with a lovely seed crop I gave two different buddies who grow some of the seeds and both of them have gotten very dark purple females out of them, neither of them took any clones so I've started a couple of those beans, a couple Rhino's from the breeder pack and a couple AK's. I'm hoping that one of those plants will be good enough to keep around as a mother...

It's been awhile since I posted up here about my grow. I got to thinking I was big shit after a couple heavy yields and then I got lazy...
My nutes ended up spoiling from heat and pretty much killed off a whole cycle before I got it figured out. Hopefully if I make myself post up some pics and updates here on a weekly basis I can get a little guidance so I don't screw up so big again.

Right now I have 4 ladies under the 400...

On the far left is a new pheno of AK. Its mother turned out pretty good, but was one of the plants affected by the bad nutes so I'm not going to make any judgment calls until I get one to stay healthy to the end. She's at day 2 of flower.

The next is an unknown bagseed that came from some local Hawaiian bud that a friend brought back to the mainland on a recent vacation. The bud that the seeds came out of was an extremely potent sativa. I really hope I can do her justice indoors. So if anyone that comes across this grow see's something going wrong with her that I'm missing PLEASE help me out. I really want to prove to myself that I can grow a sativa well indoors. She is right at a month of flower.

The next is a cross that I have been working on for about a year now. This is the seed version (have rooted clones). I have named her Purple Bastard (not sure if some bud is already named that or not?) because she is obviously colorful, and I can't remember which male I used on the cross. I do remember the mother though...

And last but not least my trusty old NL#5. She is about 3 weeks into flower. I have another clone that will be switched over within the next couple days.
