400w HPS DR80 Air Pot grow!

Props on the switch to HID man very impressive. I have planned my upcoming grow (finally starting friday) largely off what i have seen from you (im using a dr80 ,400w hps and airpots).

One question which im sure ahs already been asked, what type of fan are you using? is it on a spped controller and from the pics ive seen looks like its in your bedroom how loud is it for you?

I'm using a 4" Vortex 177cfm inline fan with a 4"x12" Odorsok and I have a 10" Cool Breeze fan on the floor of my tent to circulate fresh air in from the vents below. The reason for this is because the Vortex is hooked up to my hood and just cools the light mostly.. I plan to add 2 6" Clip Fans to clip on the poles in the corners and blow on the top of my garden so I can get my light closer next time...

By the way nobody thinks any of those are worth a nomination at least for POTM? I do cuz I've seen quite a few that were not as pretty as this strain IMO... Don't care about winning just would be cool to see one of my buds in the line up you know?

Nice work thunder. I like the setup you have. Was thinking about duplicating it except with a 600 or 1,000. But those buds look great. How long did you veg them for?

my , its not the buds but the quality of the picture. no doubt you got some beautiful buds but i think the only difference is your pictures dont "POP!!" the way the others do... i just took a look at the potm thread and i agree that your buds could beat out some of the other nominations but you gotta remember we dont get to see your buds in person like you do, thats probably why your so stoked on them. all we get to see is a dim picture(and their still really good pictures for the quality of camera you have)... if you had crazy composer's camera im pretty sure youd have at least one winner by now.

Yea I do need a better camera I want to get a new one when I have the money going for the new version on what I have cuz I love my Power Shot A410. But I'm gonna start taking them on the highest and biggest setting on the next grow and see if I can't make the line up haha...

Thunder Goo's are still going looking like a 10-11 week sativa and starting to turn purple and crystal up nicely...

I think gogo hit the nail right on the head. You see your plants in person so you know how good they look. However your pics of your plants don't "POP" like some users pictures do. I don't think you need a better camera, you just need to spend as much time as you do learning how to take care of plants and spend it on how to take some great pictures.

There is all kinds of shading and lighting going on when taking pictures of plants. You can keep taking 100s of pics and maybe you'll get a lucky one that a few people nominate to potm... But you should research color balance, lighting scales, textures, angles and sources of light, etc

All your pics look "okay" to me. Nothing to go nuts about. Your tent looks "okay" too. I'm sure it looks like the best crop you've ever grown considering you were stuck in a CFL box... but I'm guessing you're so busy with your thread, updating new pics and such, you must not be checking out some of these other threads people are keeping current. Not comparing buds, but just picture quality... some of these other threads are looking waaaaay better with less than half the pics you post.

Also, the way you post your pics in a straight line with little to no "info line" ahead of them makes it somewhat difficult to quote them and nominate them. If you were to post less pictures but only the ones you thought were best, it would be easier to hit the quote button, copy, paste, and nominate your work to the potm thread.

It begs the age old question, quantity or quality?

Why thank you kind sir and I must say I'm laughing my ass off right now being that you of all folks did it, thanks again also for the +rep the other day... I've been thinking of doing a 21 plant HD SOG all with the Double Purple Blowfish and have a good feeling I could pull close to 6oz or better in my CFL cab I say this cuz this strain seems like the perfect one to do it with cuz it's consistent but I need my mom to get bigger to do so.. Not sure if I'll do it yet cuz I'd have to stop my perpetual BUT I'd have enough personal smoke to last me till the next one while I'm rocking bomb ass grows in my tent. Next round is gonna blow this one away and should have even better looking plants!

Hey thunder. I read you that you harvested roughly 1/2oz per plant after flowering at 4inches. I was wondering if that was with your cfl grow? Also I wanted to know what you are using for nutes. And also if you see a difference with the air pots and normal pots. Sry for all of the questions. But I like ur grow and I want to setup a grow tent like yours.

I think the thing I'm looking forward to the most, by far, is the picture of the roots from the pure coco airpots. I'm going to be growing in very similar conditions soon and was wondering how pure coco + airpots would do. The plants are looking great!

If you really want some POTM shots, you definitely have the plants for it. What you need to do is get your plants out of the HID, and into some lighting specifically set up for taking pics of your buds. Go to a store and get yourself some colored fabric as a backdrop, get a few different spectrums of CFLs, and go to town. Throw in a tripod, and you've got everything you need.

How tall are your plants? (Distance between the top of the airpots and the top of the highest cola)

Just keeping up on your badass thread. Have you harvested yet? If now how far out are you?? If you can man can you go over your watering schedule for the airpots? 3x day? 2x day? 1x day? with ferts or h20??

Well thanks Metatron, I've chopped 3 of my plants at day 60 cuz I saw quite a few male flowers on my Blue Dream so I wanted it outta the tent before it dropped pollen if it hadn't already. I then decided that my Double Purple Blowfish must be finished by then at 60 days and I was only planning to take them 9 weeks anyhow I said fuck it. The Blue Dream hasn't been weighed or even started to cure and is in it's paper bag stage. It's time had come for both of the Double Purple Blowfish ladies... I got 44g from the bigger one and 33g from the smaller and it's some fucking DANK!!! I'll post some pics of the dried buds later.........
