Hi everyone,

this is a simple soil grow that i'd like to document.

It started really low on budget but i try to make it better every day.

Seeds are unknown strain, grown outdoors. Indica dominant.

Soil came premixed with perlite and i used it just like that. But i'd prefer a more aerated medium.

After transplanting to bigger pots, my needs for light increased so i put together a 400w HPS system.

And here are the results a month n half later:








They are in the second week of flowering and none of the above has shown sex. Still my best 2 plants turned female. Good enough for me.

same here too brotha i have spent maybe all of $125 total for the past 3 yrs of growing. I am as cheap as they come lol.... gl tho they look health.

Nice set up, I`ve got a budget 400WATT HPS set up and you will be surprised at the results


Keep up the good work and you should be rewarded, have a look at flora nova nutrients, its good stuff.

Hi there Ganja!
How are you planing to keep the 400W closed and managing heat?

Air flow, like the light you allready have, play a major role.
Dont skip on quality soil ang get youself at least a bloom fertilizer!

Some experience added by time and you will surprise yourself!

_frankenstein_, i am not sure what i will do about heat. Right now everything seems controllable. It's winter time so i think i'll get away with extreme temps. Still, i will try to make a stealthy exhaust and intake.

My reflector is .. well i don't if you can call it a reflector.

I know how important it is to have a good reflector, but i was waiting for flowering to get serious about it. I hope by the end of this week to have a descent reflector in the setup.

PHANTOM, thanks man you made my day. It's good to know that someone did it, and had good results. Any idea on minimum yield?

i hear you man. The only way for me to go -based on what you say- is lights on at night. I will try to change my flowering cycle. It was more convenient to have the light s on during the day for me. Now i realize that it's all about "them" Will change the cycle this week to keep temps controllable with no extra heating.

hey ganjaleaving i also grow with a 400watter plus a 70w hps(for the lower buds)in a room very similar to yours


the way that i've dealt with the heat is at the very top of the room i fitted an extracter fan (100mm) connected to a carbon filter(homemade) and venting into the roofspace
i have found this to be very effective in controlling both the smell and heat

gizmo, thanks for the aeration tips man. what size is your scrubber and how much did it cost? Not sure if i really need one yet, but it feels like a good move. Especially with stinky plants.

damn man how old is that Indica... that thing is a monster! are you going to take cuttings of that big plant and try and keep it going? Also i didnt catch are these from seed or clone? and do you kno if there fems? i maybe stoned, or didnt read throughly but if you dont mind if i ask Q's.

If your looking for carbon scrubbers check ebay......I got 1 from there and its amazing..........The company does all sizes and they are real good quality (ships from the states)

hi Mrpiston38, no prob man.
The monster is 6 weeks old (from sealed seed).
All plants came from seeds. 3 out of 6 females, 1 male and 2 that haven't shown sex yet.

I would love to take cuttings but they'd propably die as i am not a master in cloning. I am deffinently going to revert her back to veg though. Amazing plant. Growth rate is insane.

taking clones is not that hard

after all- what do you have to loose?
a small cut, some root hormone. if you have any, will do without...
a dome to keep it moist the first 6-7 days- and their you go.
either it will clone either it woulnt. try it.
i did it first with lots of fear but it seams that plants , basicly, prefer to live ruther then to die...
sorry for the miss types... 3 strokes from my bongy bong and i am o...k...

Hey GL,

The question you have to ask is can you afford not to get a scrubber as my plants have reached the later stages of flowering they REALLY stink and I had the scrubber on a timer...............now it has to run all the time

The plant you found looks like it may be a lily, I wouldn`t put any plants of unknown origin in my room as the chances of introducing pests is too great

The one that dropped should be okay, I have seen plants snap and repair when tied and splinted, Looking good so far, keep it up

As for cloning I haven`t tried it yet but I`m thinking about cloning my 2 if they are as good as they smell so when it comes time I`m just gonna go for it

you are right but i think it is to late now. Flowering is getting in its 3rd week and i've heard it takes some time to reveg a flowering branch. I still have about 30 seeds plus i am going to revert this one female.

tanks for the advice man. the fallen plant looks better all ready. It is also a female so now 4 out of 6 are females.
