yea, fab job man!!
i grew out a few HOG's about a year or so ago. we had a rough time with em round here? they were pretty particular in their need and wants, but in the end it was well worth it.
Hey guys sorry about neglecting this thread lately, have had a few things going on, but I am back on track now I think.
Overall I was very happy with the Halfpipe system and its by far the most efficient use of space for a small grow that I have experienced. Will be doing it all again soon. Next HOG is gonna be even better. I am building a specialised air cooled hood ala Undergroung Man (pictured below is Spreading Seed's unfinished version).
Tweaking a few other bits and peices, should be sweet. I plan to stick with this basic system outline for a while, although i am looking at running a 2 plant freedom style system from cuts (down the track). I have some nice strains to work with too, so should be good. Also, another project will be a small outdoor grow of (most likely) Maroc from Female seeds coming up soon.
Will keep updating this thread for a while longer with the phase 2 harvest (sativa pheno 007) and dried bud shots.
Ezra this was a great thread that I followed daily. I have a 430 watt that Im gonna try it with...hopefully I can get the same resluts. One question ...I just had fencing put around a pool area...I have several sections of rubber coated fencing...nice big holes for the buds...should I go with that for the screen or do you recommend something smaller??? Its just a chain link fence...but plastic covers it...lol hope that makes sense Peace and good job on the grow
krippy - that chain link fencing would no doubt work, but I personally prefer smaller mesh. Its just a personal preference thing. I find it helps to keep a tighter canopy. Also idealy, I think the screen should not block too much light, which I think that fence stuff probably would a bit. But hey, if you find it easy to work with, go for it. Looking forward to seeing how your setup works out. good luck
hey guys, there will be more updates in this thread soon as I still have the sativa pheno going. It stalled for a little while and I thought it was going to finish so I started to flush with plan water but there has been a surge in new flower growth and with the new bud looking tighter (perhaps because this 1 plant is now getting all the light from the 400 hps) So I decided to give it at least one more light dose of organic nutes. Not sure how much longer its going to take. Its been flowering for about 14 weeks already. At the moment its on 9hrs light 15hrs dark cycle. Looks like its gonna be some nice buds too. The smell is complex. its a little fruity, a bit sour, with earthy and subtle almost metalic undertones. Hard to explain probably fruity and earthy is the best description. Very, very different to the other (indica) 007s which were very skunk dominant. If I knew how hard it was going to be to flower this pheno and how long it would take I wouldnt have grown 007, but I think I will be pleased overall as this pheno is different to anything else I have grown.
ezra!!! Wow my jaw drops to the floor, thats an amazing yield for a 400w light Mad Props to you, keep up the good work brother.. That inspires me to try somthing similar with my 400w. Just gotta get up off my lazy stoner ass and get to work. lol.
Here is a macro of a 007 Sativa pheno (flowered 16 weeks) I took a few branches off the plant and dried them. The rest of the plant will come down within the next 36hs.
The smell on the dried buds is very, very nice - lemony, sour fruit, totally different to the other Indica 007s.
Here are a few enlarged macros of some buds from the Sativa pheno. These buds are from branches taken at 16 weeks flower. The rest of the plant was chopped yesterday at over 17 weeks!
These buds smell so delicious - like lemon PEZ. Very nice smoke and so potent.
