400W DIGITAL BALLAST, NOISE?

I am considering buying a 400w digital ballast to replace my magnetic ballast, this is for a hydrohut INISDE my bedroom. What will the noise reduction be like? As it is, I have a hard time sleeping with a ballast in my room on a veg cycle (20/4)


Anyone who runs a digital ballast, how quiet are these things? 400w

well just about, i dont kno the dB rating or anything, but its definately quiet compared to my old mag ballast. .

NOPE...NOPE...NOPE... I'd worry MORE about odor control and the fan noise...IF the ballast is YOUR biggest condern...you NEED to do a 2nd TAKE on your grow...ODOR/FAN/NOISE...tutt

i have a lumatek 400 watt'r. and a digital green house. ZERO decibles. i've had floruescent ballasts that sounded like an army compared to these babies, oh yah, my electric bill is tiny. digital rocks

My gift to you is a warning...i would stay away from future-brites. I own a faulty 1000w. I know about their crappy product, and i know about their crappy all talk-no walk service. In the 6 months ive been in this hobby, future brite 400's are the only ballasts ive seen come back to my local store with problems, two to be exact and i believe one 600. Ive delt with them fully, and I will never buy another one of their products again.

The lumatek and ventronic ballast's are the best from what i've seen/heard,i've also heard some digi ballast's interfere with TV/satalite system's as well.

For my odor control, I have used a very scientific method.

I use dryer sheets on the outake of my exhaust fan, It still has a slight hint of weed in there, but mainly smells like I am running a dryer.

And it does not have to be a digital ballast to create an issue with your tv, all electronic/electrical items give off a EMF which can create havoc for anything. Probably the main reason why tv's are not normally put in laundry rooms.
