400 W for 16 pots?

N

New Grower

Hello!

Can I use a 400 W bulb for a 4 x 4 feet grow place? (120*120 cm = 16 pots)

10 l pots.

Thanks for the help!

no, not really. I mean you could do anything you want really, but the max you really want to run w/ 400w is 2.5' X 2.5'. For 4 X 4 I'd run a 600w system, you'll be much happier with the results. I guess you could try a light mover w/ the 400, but 16 plants is going to be a dense canopy and there will be light penetration concerns. Why not just run like 5 gals under the 400w and veg a little longer?

thanks half lotus!

OK than I'll grow 9 seeds / 400 W

That is 3 x 3 feet.

How high should I take the lamp above the pots?

I'll use a fan to circulate the air.

yeah keep it as close as you can unless its burning or bleaching.

9 plants under 400 should be good, may wanna do as much training and trimming to give plants as much light.

may scrog or sog would be optimal.

good luck =)

Thanks for the comments!

Which would be the most optimal? 16 clones / square metre or how many?

still 400 W

I run 16 perfect pots in my 3x3 setup with (2)600watt HPS kickin above...

133watts per sq.ft. is golden.

The footprint on a single hood over a 4x4 table has a little to be desired. Two 400w would be able to give ya a little better footprint and alot more light intensity.

I actually like the 3x3 setup more than the 4x4 setup, way easier to manage the plant count, tighter footprint, and still get monster yields.

One 400watter is good over a 2x2 table or footprint but that's about it for me

You know another plus for a 3X3 setups is the prefab 36 site hydro setups, but yeah you'll want to run 600w at least. My biggest gripe about 400w is canopy penetration, but if you scrog with one you can still get some good buds. But it just seems the 600w gives you much better, denser buds.

I have 3 x 400 W Philips Son T.

How big place what can I light with these 3 lamps?

Should I take "side by side" all the 3 lamps?

How many clones should I take under this 3 lights system to try to reach the maximum yield?

Thanks a lot!

about 2.5 x 7.5 space; you could try (assuming a 1 sq foot pot size) you could run say 21.

also match your grow space to the shape of the reflector...

i have 9 under a 400 watt HPS.

This is just my way of knowing how many plants can go under a certain amount of watts. I know people have done more/less. For every 100 watts you have, (in your case 400W) you can grow 2 plants depending on the size of your room of course. So for a 400W lamp I would suggest 8 plants however 9 or 10 can work just fine. For a 600W light 12 plants and so on. The more light/oxygen each plant gets the better. Good luck!
