[The grandmother] claims she's not going to make them ever again.

How fecking retarded can you get.

If it had been aspirin and the kid had nearly O.D., the parents would have gotten a stern warning about keeping the medicine cabinet closed.

We truly live in a sick society. Definitely keep the meds up, don't give them any reason to print additional crap like this. Eh? :)

Oh yeah, almost forgot....

Dollars to donuts... that kid wasn't 'sleeping' for most of that time. Ever peel back the eyelid of a dog that ate your stash? Definitely conscious, most of the time.

Remember the cop that baked stolen weed brownies? "I think we're dead... time is moving really, really, really slowly."

LOL

Yeah that cop was totally in the black out zone with weed. Reminds me of the first time I got real high.. so high my friend had to be my weed caddy and bring hits by for me in between fits of screaming about how the sky was hurting my for moving so fast. hahah

Before my cool friend moved in with me I had a craigslist roommate who was into chess. Nicest guy who never spoke a word youd ever want to cross paths with. He never smoked and drank in his room while playing online chess against married guys in DC or whatever. ]] My sister from CO sends a chocolate out my way from tour or from a dispensary hidden in a christmas present.

Anyways one day I come home from a rough day of riding with friends.. lucky I wasn't driving. Im wasted and I walk into the house say 5:00pm and my roommate comes out of the bedroom and hands me his water and says,

"Im going to pass out take this"

"You look like you're on drugs, what did you take," I respond

"I think I just drank too much coffee, maybe it was the extra hot sauce on my pizza Im not sure but Im going to pass out>"

I look at him and realize hes not kidding. He hands me the water and proceeds to crumple up on the ground. Passe the Fuck out. I realized he ate the chocolate in a second or two just in time for him to wake up.

"Dude did you eat a chocolate with a giant Purple smily face on it???"

"Umm oh yeah maybe"

I told him to go puke in the toilet if he didn't want an all expenses paid trip to the moon.

hahaha talk about a baby tripper

Lol Hammerhead.. thats truth sytlee -> no shit I never thought about that. you c o ul d be right hmhmhmhmmmmm

Damn you're so right that story and others like it could be playing in your head right now. All thanks to the folks that suck. But then again stoners wouldn't be so awesome then would they.

I forgot the best part of that story I told...

I kept asking, "Did you eat the whole chocolate."

He kept staring up at the ceiling like he had just realized the most amazing thing...

I kept asking the same question and then he started to look unhappy.. just like a little kid who doesn't know others can sense their moods. Real unaware like you know?

he looked at me with a mean look and says, "Stop saying, 'The whole thing', you're scaring me or something."

I wonder how that will effect the child. It would be interesting to have that memory as an adult. My cousin got into a pack of birth control pills as a baby. He's now a famous designer in France.

Toddlers Edible Marijuana ingestion could have been worse... and here is how

By Susan E. Matthews, MyHealthNewsDaily Staff Writer | LiveScience.com The case of the 3-year-old boy who ate his grandmother’s prescription marijuana-laced cookies could have had a much worse ending than a very long nap had the child consumed a drug other than cannabis, a drug expert says.

The California boy was taken to the hospital after he slept for 16 hours and his family noticed crumbs from the grandmother’s cookies, according to an Associated Press story. He was observed at the hospital and released.

Cannabis is “one of the least toxic drugs that exists,” said Dr. Stephen Ross, a professor of child psychiatry and addiction at New York University’s Tish Hospital. Death from ingesting it would be unlikely even for a small child, he said.

But Ross said a child having access to any sort of drug, including marijuana, is certainly concerning, and the outcome could have been much worse if the child had ingested a drug such as an amphetamine, an opiate or alcohol.

Researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently reported that deaths among children due to accidental poisoning — which includes drug overdoses as well as cases of ingesting cleaning products — nearly doubled over the past decade. There were 824 reported deaths in 2009, compared with 442 in 2000.

The increase was largely due to an increase in prescription drug overdoses in teens, the CDC said.

Because children’s brains are still developing, they are generally more sensitive to drugs in general, Ross said. In particular, drugs that are potentially addicting need to be kept out of children’s reach, he said.

“I’m concerned about drugs that have addictive liability, that are used medicinally, that are not locked up,” Ross said.

Marijuana is not addicting, but the growing trend among states of decriminalizing marijuana means that people should be reminded to be just as careful with this drug as with others. “Unless it’s properly secured like other medicines, this will happen,” Ross said.

While the exact effects of marijuana on children are unclear because no such medical experiments can be performed ethically, its main effects on children would likely be sedation or confusion. In adults, consuming large amounts of marijuana has been linked with psychosis, Ross noted.

He said no death has even been attributed directly to consuming marijuana. Deaths associated with the drug are the result of activities undertaken while on the drug, such as driving under the influence.

Still, parents who suspect their child has consumed the drug should immediately take the child to an emergency room, Ross said, and the child should be observed for the duration of the drug’s influence.

“Certainly, a child who had ingested it should be medically monitored to make sure they wouldn’t do anything that would be dangerous,” Ross said. “If a child becomes uncoordinated or their speech becomes slurry or they develop bloodshot eyes — those would be the overt signs that I’d be looking out for.”

Pass it on: Ingesting marijuana is not likely life-threatening for children, but it’s important to keep all medical prescriptions, including marijuana, locked away.

LMAO!!!

Not even going to comment or add to this story. Fuck it.

So many years ago was out with a lady friend and her nephew she was baby sitting.

Lit one. The smoke blew back and into the back window where he was seated, we were outside the car.

Didn't notice anything at first... LMAO...

Well... met up with her sister, the boys mother. Maybe he was 2 or 3.

He starts talking to his mom, and every few sentences, the words were mixed around out of sequence. She says wow, must've had a long day. (took him to the beach, it was 11 pm when dropping him off)

The little fellers all tuckered out. LOL

All tuckered out.

Why do they have to go there? Asprin or any other Rx would have killed or seriously maimed the child.

Fearmongering... straight up.

I think they were just pointing out how benign cannabis ingestion is by comparison... often amphetamines and opiates are in the form of Rx drugs...so :dunno:

and they also are pointing out that the most dangerous thing about a child being on cannabis is... supervision... not the actual chemical compounds, they need to be supervised so they don't accidentally hurt themselves... but other than that it is relatively safe
