3x6 vs 4x4 table flood and drain

hi all

running 600 watt lights... is it better to do

2x 600w over each 3x6 table and have one table

or 1x 600w over each 4x4 table and have two tables

some people say 600w can cover 3x3 only, some say 4x4 depending on hood... was planning on running cooltubes and reflectorized bulbs (agrosun / gavita) but im not entirely sure of their coverage.

I have two cool tubes and they kinda suck in the reflectorability department. They just don't direct the light as well as a hood. I just today bought the framing lumber to enclosed 1/3 of my three-car garage to use as a 10' x 20' grow room, but for now I'm growing in cabs. One cab is 3'x6' and has 2 x 600w (in cool tubes) the other is 4'x4' and has a 1,000w in a hood. They both grow some pretty nice buds. I couldn't see using a 600w in the 4'x4'. It just wouldn't have enough penetration.

Why not get the 4x4?
You would still have the same 3x3 area under each light capturing the same amount of lumens as it would on any table.
Same amount of penetration as well.
Plus you get some free real estate (7 more square feet per light) that is just slightly outside of the high lumen area.
Then you can put more plants in (or increase the current plant canopy size) that will give you more buds that you couldn't get if limited to 3x6 vs 4x8 with the same amount of light.
I used to grow trainwreck very successfully with one 600 watter per 16 sq feet.
That 7 extra sq feet can easily add another quarter pound per light.

I'd use the 4x4 with a 600 over it, and another 4x4 with a 600 over it. This would give you a lot more growing space and sure the stuff on the ends won't be as dense and pretty as the shit in the middle but it would still produce smoke. If I had the space and the equipment I'd run it like that.. I run 2000w over 4x8..

bigger is always better in my opinion. Two 600's over a 3x6 table is perfect lighting in my opinion for that size. But like the others have posted a 600 over a 4x4 would be nice too. The outside less denser but would make some killer hash or still be decent smoke.
