3'x3'x6' Tent 315W LED Heating Question

Greetings All!

I am running into issues with keeping my temps up at all time. LEDs are great, but ain't too good at keeping the tent toasty!

Here is some info for ya:

Secret Jardin DR90 tent (3x3x6)
315w 189x pro light (LED)
MaxFan 6"
6" 18" Carbon Filter
Passive Air intake
Located in a basement
43N Longitude, so it gets pretty cold here

So, temps hang around 62f with lights on and drop to 50f with them off.

Here are my ideas:

1. Reptile ceramic heaters + pc fans + outlet thermostat

I have 2 pc fans (120mm) for air circulation that i attached to the tent poles at the back. I was thinking about putting a 60w retile heater in front of each (1) and have it controlled by a temperature outlet controller (2) that would kick it on when the temps fell below 70F.

2. Duct fan + ducting + Personal space heater + outlet thermostat

The tent has a sock closer to the bottom that is right next to my grow tray. My idea was to have a 210CFM in line duct fan booster go in there, attach some ducting and run it 5 ft (outside the "room" the tent is in, where i will worry less about a fire) and place a forced air space heater (3) pointer right at the intake. Fan + heater would be controlled by the thermostat located inside the tent.

3. Tubular heater

Can't find any that have a US plug or enough information about them to make me feel comfortable with putting them into my tent

Please let me know which ideas are good / dangerous / stupid

:bow:THANK YOU ALL!

I don't know where you are.......but,
What I do is use 315w CMH lights and a dehumidifier for heat at lights off.
This is during the winter time.
In the summer AC.

Leds are a bit too cool for the winter time. ;-)

Save your leds for the summer heat.

Surf your environment!

Hey,

Thanks for the reply. Not going to change my light at this stage, and i can't seem to find a dehumidifier that would fit into my tent with the res/grow tray i have in there now. I have about 6" of space on one side (other side has my 2 air pumps and my ph meter)

I have recently tried running my tent and sealing it up, just the LED light running. Temps get to 72 and stay there.
Anyone have any recommendations on a dehumidifier that i could hang\place inside my tent (about 6" of space i can dedicate to it) and could modify to drip the condensation into my res. If it is feasible and under 150 for the dehumidifier, i could easily see myself running a sealed tent for the winter. Any ideas?

I'm running LEDs and had the same problem since I'm in the mountains and grow in my garage. Seal your tent up and put a co2 generator and dehumidifier. Those two togethar in my 5x9 tent keeps it at 80 degrees. Remember to keep humidity down and temps up running LEDs so the plants can transpire quickly.

Similar situation... my box is too small to fit a co2 generator and dehumidifier, though.. I was thinking of getting some kind of heater with a temp control inside the box as well... placing the heater near the passive intake.. Not really sure.. I do like the look of that Sengoku heater, though! Anyone else use that?
If you're using a heater I imagine you would want a dehumidifier as well? I could also put that next to the heater/passive intake on the same temp-controlled outlet (unless it should be on all the time, or on a timer/interval or something).

Thoughts?

Here is my box by the way..

I would get a control to control humidity. Try putting the dehumidifier near the intake and see if that would be enough. Kill two birds with one stone.

Would I not need a humidifier if I had heat running? I would assume that would dry the air out more, no?

Either way.. are there any good SMALL dehumidifiers? I have a small humidifier, but I would hate to have to fill that thing up every day or two.. although I guess depending on how dry it is it won't be on 24/7.

I would hate to not use my new LED lights during the winter, but I do have a 150w HPS.. I feel like if I went that route I should probably get a 250w, though.. or actually a 400w HPS with a dimmable ballast. I would reeeeeaaaally love to avoid that, though!
