3LB's Molasses - The Miracle Addative

Now that I knew not. Thanks man!

where do you get it, and do you have any further info?

Both are cultures I gathered wild and strain selected for strong rhizomorphic growth and aggresive colonization of the root zone,I also use them to inoculate the root sytems of trees to make patches of truffles and chanterelles for my own picking.
My conclusions are based upon the dynamics of soil mycota and studies of forests lacking balanced mycota. Forests lacking a healthy fungal population are disease susceptable and do not have as good a growth as healthy soils.
Most healthy ecosystems have equally healthy mycorhyzoidal populations even grasslands and swamps.
In developing these cultures I did extensive microscopic work in choosing a strain of fungi which aggressively colonized the root zone
As using trees was not feasible i used rye grass as a preliminary host root. Once a strain was isolated which colonized rapidly and formed highly entwined connections with the root hairs. It was moved out to seedling trees and tested in a more natural setting.
The best of this stage was then used to inoculate various prospective forest sites and the most prolific fruiting strain selected.
Their use in my cannabis soils is a result of microscopic observation of the roots once colonized. The fungi developed the same tight connections originally selected for in the grass and potted tree stages of development of the strain.
Due to slightly different properties of the truffle VS chanterelle I believe they are complimentary feeders to the root hair. the truffle creates concentrations of nutes while the chanterelle is more dispersed. this makes for a steady nute supply enhanced by "boosts" from the pockets of concentrated nutes(used to form the truffle in optimum substrates but co-opted to the root zone in this case.
As I mentioned I need to add no supliments to the soil until flower then bone meal and molasses are used to increase the population of organisms to attack the bone meal for calcium and phosphorus boost.
I am lucky to live where I can wild collect fungal cultures but must develop them myself. A quick web search should turn up a vendor of already worked strains that cultures can be purchased from.
I make no assumptions regarding their suitability to cannabis. However my experience with using mycorhyzoidal fungi has been amazing in the simplicity of the grow once the soil is made properly.
The plants are hardier and more disease and pest resistant indoors and out, they are more tolerant of drought but not of overwatering.
And finnally organic nutes are many fold more rapidly absorbed when the fungi work them up and directly infuse the root hair. I usually cut recomended use by .25 as less is more with the fungi working up the additives.
I hope this helps some folks

Just wanted say a while back I was using only molasses as a nutrient because it was all I could get, due to my situation. Now I was able to get some stuff from BioBizz and doing good, I still use molasses just not as much. I also got some Sweet Grape from Botnicare. The girls have wasted no time flowering and are going crazy. Should be just four more weeks. I crossbred a indica/sativa with a hardy sativa that is working on a nice cola bud now. I don't know what they really are, their given to me by two different people. so I should have some interesting seeds from them

Here are some new photo's my plants. They have 2 to 3 weeks to go yet. And all are growing under 2 CFL's. and are getting a diet of Blackstrap Molasses, Bio Grow,Top Max, & Bio Bloom. They have a very skunky smell. I hope every one else like them. They are still flowering strong, I'm very tempted to let them go for it as long as I can. They're in my PC Case so I guess when it is filled I'll have to harvest.:smokeit: While I showing photo's here are some new pics of my pc grow case. The last 2 photo's are of the front intake with Srubninja's light trap design on the fan and then the carbon filter on the exhaust fan. I'm also experimenting with old CD and DVD's as reflectors since they reflect a full color spectrum. The light's are 2 23w/100w CFL's. It's basic but works good, it's my first one, it has works good enough that I'll make some improvments and using it and I'm going to make a bigger better one soon.

I love molasses as an additive not only does it contain essential nutrients nitrogen and potassium but it provides essential sugars that plants use. It also contains a high amount of organic matter for the microherd to go along with the sugar, some essential vitamins and best of all its cheap which makes a great additive for tea.

Wow.. talk about a miracle additive.. i had two plants showing deficiencies 6 weeks into flower.. i didn't even give a thought to what they where, i mixed up a gallon of mollases tea and soaked then for an hour.. and fed all my other ladies, and the two that where on the downhill now (4 days later) look like i'm some kind of botanist genius.. healthy as ever
Good thing i know this now.. i can use it from the start.
Awesome thread

Masterlow,

you soaked them for an hour? What exactly do you mean? I'm picturing the whole pot being placed in a bucket and submerged or repeated waterings. I normally don't water for and amount of time.

Hey, thx for all that info!

I use the molasse as a "booster"(the canna booster was too expensive for coco), i got it from the pharmacy. I mix the molasse once a week in my res and it smells so yummy ^^ Bloombastic smells great too hehe

cheers

I've had to adjust my blend because I won't use guano anymore due to the ecoharm caused by its removal but I have been using molasses for years as my flush and finish feeding with excellent results happy plants = happy me
5 Gallons of distilled water
2 TBLS molasses
1 sheet of dried seaweed crushed (or let it soak in the tea and shred naturally)[any grocer with sushi making stuff]
1 OZ. carbonated beverage
stir vigourously and regularily for 5 minutes
let sit for one hour and repeat
let steep for 24 hours then strain (or don't, the option is open)
...bob's your uncle...golden brown goodness for our thirsty green friends...

Thanks a ton for the plethora of info, as a newbie who is preparing his first grow, who wants to take a minimalist, and natural angle on growing, this was absurdly helpful.

i have read this whole thread and one person asked if anyone used this stuff in hydro???? is the mixing the same rate as soil or dont use as hydro additive???

Hey friends!

Very nice thread and interesting opinions!!!

Nice to be here :)

My question concerning the molasses topic is which nutrition informations do you have on your blackstrap molasses products?
I ask because i read that "the best thing to use" is the original "blackstrap molasses". -Okay, it isn`t very hard to get that.... heheee... but i do not live in an english speaking country, and these kind of product isn`t very available here, especially not with the addition "blackstrap".
so i am not so sure which product to use...

It would be so cool if some of you could post the nutrition infos of your product here (with photo or a copy, link or something), but only if you are sure that your products` nutrition is from the blackstrap molasses AND DEFINITLY helped to improve your grow (--->so, i mean the good one`s: well known and aproofed).

If you could do this, i could compare your nutrition infos with that on the little products i found here in order to get that one that has the closest nutrition to the original blackstrap.

That would be so nice!!!

thanks so much

Why not Honey, i believe it is more pure, has mystical healing properties, can not be man made or duplicated, yep i might give it a go......
