3kw=3+lb????

just wandering if anyone has experience with small plant numbers and high wattage? would a lb per light be possible with 6 per light? 3lights(kw)/18plants. If so, with what method/strains?Been successful through the years but never been affected by plant numbers until now. Let me know. Peace.

Yah that's totally possible. You just have to make sure to veg em for at least a month so you get a good yield per plant.

You could pull that with pretty much any method and a decent strain.

KFB or Bio-Buckets are the systems you want to look into if you wanna really get serious about pulling huge yields off of low plant #'s without having to veg longer than a month.

With either of the above systems dialed in you'd be looking at more like 4-6 pounds with that kinda wattage and plant #'s.

thanks meduser, just wanted to get an idea. I currently have NYCD and Grand Daddy Purple going which have yielded ok. Ive read great thinks about blockhead...how does it compare to these in terms of yield/quality?

wow thanks maj. thats a great thread(very thorough)...i was looking into something like that but have only grown soil in my time. maybe its time to make a switch? what about scrogging a dwc? http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=15121&highlight=bio+bucket . I found this thread from a how-to on here. halfway down the page are the results of this setup. Definitely nice. Also NYCD has been my fav to grow for the last year but I am looking to take something new on....Any suggestions??

I veg my blockhead for about 30 days and flower them in 2 gallon pots,I'll go 12-16 plants per light each plant yielding about 1 1/2 ounces after a thorough manicure

I've tried 1 gallon pots and 3 gallon pots,I knew if I could find the plain black plasic pots in 2 gallon which isnt easy that would be my best bet.For awhile I used those 8 inch thick plasic pots from walmart for 88cents,then my hydroshop finally got some in.The plants I flower in 2 gallon pots are nearly as big as the ones I was flowering in 3 gallon,and I can get a lot more plants in with the smaller pots.It just has worked out this way for my cloning experiments.First I tried 1 gallon and they were just too small for the size plants I was going to flower.Three gallon was fine but I'd be lucky to cram 30 in my 8 by 8 space.With the 2 gallons I have no trouble getting around 45 plants plants in and I'm still watering every 4th day at harvest,roots have plenty of room.

so you prefer numbers to size? I have as well and so would anyone else i assume but could you not get the same amount with like 20 five gallon pots or large growbags? we are in the same neighborhood is why i ask and i'm trying to lower my plant numbers.Also my roots are already flying out of the bottom of my 4-5(not quite 5) gallon pots at 15 days flower....how are you able to keep them confined??

I have no clue how you get roots growing out the bottom of a five gallon pot bro,that blows the big one.Are you starting in a small container like 4 inch and transplanting up as the plant gets larger?The root system of my clones are nothing compared to the root system of a seedplant,that I know from looking at them.I can grow larger plants in larger pots or smaller plants in 1 gallon pots and already have,thats why I'm sticking with 2 gallon.It is the size where I've been able to get the most bud.I've never had probems with the roots having room,I'm still watering every fourth day when I harvest

hmm...im working with clones as well but they definitely are growing out of the bottom..i started in small 4 or 6 inch pots and moved them up..protocol bro. I am using rhizotonic in canna coco and bcuzz coco for a root stimulant but it is a minimal amount, not like in veg. It was suggested by the mfg. think i should stop?

at my first attempts in soil (about 2 months ago) I started 20 a-10's in 1 gal pots then moved them to 3 gal pots after 3 weeks and lots of roots poking out.. now there are roots poking out of the 3 gallon..
i have a 4X8 tray that will fit 36 of my 3 gal pots but i think skeletor is right that i may also be able to pass by with a 2 gal and fit more plants in there.. i'm not sure, i'll have to see what my root structure is like after these plants are done flowering..
