Wow that opticlimate looks great drfever. Do you know if they are available in the us anywhere? Can't seem to get through to the uk with the numbers they give

Are the excels the diy install with the quick connect fittings? If so I would avoid for sure. There is no way an ac is getting hooked up without getting purged sealed and tested. I tried it, had a vaccum pump and gauge set and all that, didn't work for shit, ended up calling an Hvac guy.

Hey billy, where do you live....having the compressor indoors vs outside is important if you live in a cold climate situation. The excel products are pricey, but pretty bulletproof and built accordingly.

Having your HVAC shit down because it can't run when it is 5 degrees outside is tuuuurible

Find an hvac guy and get him on install, forget Excel, overpriced, if you need a plenum, motorized dampers, or any ductwork, contact ECCOsupply in Vancouver.

i live in northern cali close to oregon 313ninja temps are very mild 40-50 at night. noise is my only concern. i feel like the stealth model outside condenser will be quiter then two mini split outside units. what do you guys think?

How quiet are the stealths? Minis are pretty fucking quiet. Hard to imagine a normal split system being quieter no matter how they box it up. Maybe it is though.

i think they are very quite. no compressor noise and the fan in outside unit has low ambient control which slows or speeds up the fan very gradually depending on outside temps rather then stopping all together and starting at full bore. It does go off and on some times but also very gradually. This function eliminates a lot of noise.

would love to see the two mini split units and the stealth in action before buying. The mini split units have same low ambient control feature and other god technology, but you still have the compressor outside

Certainly the stealth compressor will be outside as well won't it? What makes minis quiet, and what the stealth won't do, is run the compressor variably. The inverter compressors make shit quiet.

Most of the time you could never hear my 2 ton mini, every so often it will run the fan for a second, but in the winter it's pretty fucking quiet. I hear the fan more in the summer, but I don't mind a ton because hearing an ac in the summer is pretty normal. In the winter you mostly just barely hear the compressor, like a low super quiet hum.

Fwiw I am under the impression that the mr slims are even quieter than mine.
