32* Air through Hood

Is it a bad idea to take freezing cold air and run it through my hood to cool a 1k?

it's cool, I did it all winter long last year without a problem. Hoods were so cool I could touch the glass without a problem, that was with 600's.

the temps arent the problem, the lower the better just as long as no moisture hits the bulb you are fine.

Yeah I use outside air, well damn close to it to cool my bulb.

You have to think about commercial applications, Most street lights are either MH or HPS, they are outside in the elements all year without any negative effects.

The only issue I have is dust coming into the cooltube.

I'm curious, does the bulb heat up the air that much on the exhaust end or is it still pretty cold?

I was thinking the same thing i was going to make a wooden window box as seen on youtube and I had a idea of ataching 3m filter over the intake hole on the window box so no moisture gets in what do you think oh and right now with my 600 watter my temps are at 70 and rh 40-50% I ran it all night oh and by the way I'm running a homebox xl with a 270cfm can fan what I was planing to do is veg with 600 watter mh then use the window box and run a 1000 watter hps during flower to fatten up the lower buds but if I have to move it away due to heat then It be a waste right

as long as there is no condensation. If water forms on the bulbs they will pop.
