1000w Sun Sysytem 10 with Hortilux
$286.41 with shipping.

They come with Econowings. I'm not using any hoods. It's just part of the package.

I can't decide which to purchase. I want to do a vertical grow in a room that's 6x8. Again no hoods. So those wings will just go in the garage.
I'm going to call them and see if I can have them take some money off if they keep the wings. .

I've been researching this for a week.
I actually placed an order and canceled it because I could not make up my damn mind.

Here are some of the random thoughts that are running through my brain.

I've read that the digitals may cause interference. If they do I'll send them back.
I've also read the 600w are very compatible yield wise to a 1000w ballast.
Maybe 5% difference.
Would 3 digitals = the output of 2 1000w.

Financially it would be better to buy the 1000's. I could grab both lights and bulbs for around $570. The digitals are going to cost more than $600 extra..

Is this cost justifiable. Again if 3 600w digitals are comparable to 2 coil 1000w
that could save me $300.

I just want the best yield for
my money when it comes to these lights.

With everything being equal

1. Which set up would you expect to yield more. 3 or 4 600 or the 2 1000's.

2. Lumen Count.
3 600w "255,000
4 600W "340,000"
2 1000w "300,000"
I know Lumens don't mean everything but it's what I have to go on.
Any opinions on those numbers.

3.Will I see that much of a difference for the extra $300-$600 I would spend to go digital.

4. Would I save any consumption on electricity by using either or.

5. Would there a big difference in the heat from the lights. The Ballasts will be setup outside the flowering room.

4. If you know of a better deal than those two let me know. Please leave a link or the site name if possible.

I think that's it. Time to smoke. http://www.icmag.com/ic/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=32#

I look forward to the responses form the great ICMag community.

Thanks again.

I looked into this and ended up buying 600's, but lumateks with cords and mogel for $220 shipped each. The numbers I figured for lumens were off from yours, I think 1000's are around 135,000= 270,000 for 2. 600's are around 90,000= 270,000 for 3. the 1000's will give deeper penetration, but the 600's would have a larger footprint if you went with 4 and 360,000 lumens. I think 4-600's digital and 2-1000 magnetic ballasts would both draw about 20amps@120v. I'm still new at this, but am still trying to help.

3 600's cover more space, use less power do to the heat you dont have to cool.... its a lil more up front but well worth it in the end

The new Galaxy's are great. I'd go with some 600's of the Galaxy brand or Sun System 1 or 10.

well, since lumens are a measure of visible light, which is completely useless to a plant we should throw those numbers out first. Obviously, the correct answer is 4 600's due to wattage, PAR, and coverage...next time you should refine your question

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm going to buy one of each and see how they perform. I'm a little worried about the RF interference but I won't know until I try it.
