3 days flowering and red pistils down stalk?

Hey guys....


I have a problem...

In my closet grow my ladies are on 3 days flowering and i just looked today and all of the pistils on the stalk died.

I have no idea why this would happen as my plants look in perfect health...

I was thinking it could be because the closet is sealed at night and with the high volume of plants in there with no intake that they could be suffocating at night even though there is a fan circulating air inside. Could this be the case?

There's a form in the infirmary. It has lots of questions but doesn't take long to copy, paste and answer in your thread. This will give others more info on your setup, nutes, etc.

How long has this problem been going on? About 3-4 days.
What STRAIN are you growing? random.
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) seed.
What is the age of your plants? about 2 months.
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? 2 weeks.
How Tall are the plants? LST about 2 feet.
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Day 3 Flower.
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) 7 gallon.
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) FF Happy Frog/FF Orgininal Mix/Perlite
What Nutrient's are you using? FF TigerBloom
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* About 1 teaspoon per gallon.
How often are you feeding? Every other watering.
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? Today.
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? Dont know.
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? Dont know.
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?[/B] Dont know.
How often are you watering? About every week.
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? Today, every other watering.
What size bulb are you using? 400 Watt MH Warm/ T5 Daylight
What is the distance to the canopy? About 12 inches
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) Dont know.
What is the canopy temperature? About 80 degrees during the day. Sometimes lower but never under 70.
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) Dont know.
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? Small fan is on in room 24/7, door cracked during the day, closed at night.
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? No.
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? Neither.
Is your water HARD or SOFT? Hard.
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? Distilled tapwater.
Are you using water from a water softener?No.
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? Clones taken from bottom of plant the day I switched to 12/12.
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?NPS used as a preventative periodically when small bugs were seen in room.
Are plant's infected with pest's? No.

Is there any way they could have been pollinated?

Also, I'd get your ventilation worked out asap...that setup is a problem waiting to happen. Intake and exhaust holes and fan so you can close that door and have a flow of air. C'mon man, it ain't that hard to patch up drywall.

^^^Ehh, Mintman, I am renting this place, so I wont be cutting any holes in the wall. i was thinking about moving them to a bigger room with AC.

And there is no way they could have been pollinated, There are all females in the room and I took out the AF plants that I had in there... And its weird because the hairs are red down the stalk only and not on the branches... Im going to have to check again today when lights are on.

Edit: After looking at the AF buds i harvested the other day I can see a few bananas that were open in them. The af plants were only lik 10 inches tall compared to these ladies. I dont see how they all could have got pollenated. I really hope that this isnt the case. This grow would be ruined.

Heres some pics fellas... Help a honkey out... The top ones show pistils that are okay...
I was thinking it could have been that I waited to give them water too long. They werent drooping but their 7 gallon pots were light as a feather. I was thinking if they are pollenated, wouldnt they be swelled up and red, not all dryed out and red?

hey hades i dont know everything about growing but a few things come to mind but dont hold me to it.you may have a light leak and it could slowly be putting back in to vegg.there are a few others i will look in to and i will let you know.

Hmm, I think you may be right IW... I have about an inch and a half opening under the door and there could be a few hours of possible light leak since they are in my bedroom closet... I went inside with the lights off just incase before I switched to flower but it didnt seem like it was an issue because even in the outdoors it isnt completely black at night.. The room was still totally dark with the exeption of the small glare under the door. I should probably check that out again tonight.

yeah check it out and let me know.that glare could get enough light into there to re-vegg them.

Exactly what i was going to say, with those nanners showing up in your AF. You more then likely have a light leak with you just shutting your door at night. But, it could always be something else. Good luck with you problem and your girls. Looks like youre going to have one stinky house soon

You guys think it is a light leak?

I just checked and there is not even a half inch under the door, I was wrong, and about a couple mm all around the door. Im going to check tonight when its lights off, but Im not sure it could be a significant light leak. Maybe Ill take pics inside. ha

I just checked and it at lights off and it appears that you can see a lining of the door. the room is still pitch black, but you can see the doors outline. Do you think thats enough light?

After a few minutes of being in the room with the lights off can you see anything? (i.e. your hand, plants, anything.) If you can, it's too much light.
