2x4 tent need help

I just ordered the Secret Jardin DR120W the dimensions are 3'11.25" x 1'11.25" x 5'3". I plan to use a 400w dimmable HPS/MH with a cooltube. The best price I found was $160 through Amazon. After a few grows I would like to add some LED as well. Get closer to 600w total.

I need some help with the ventilation. I will be using passive intakes.
-I feel like my best bet would be to get a 6" inline and set it up like this
Air in tent>Carbon filter>Cooltube>Fan>Out tent
-Or I could go with two 4" inline fans like this
Air in tent>carbon filter>fan>out tent
Air outside tent>cooltube>fan>out top of tent

My beans are on their way as well. I plan to run 3 Maxi GOM Autos as soon as I get this all figured out. Im overly excited to start growing again.:woohoo:

either ventilation setup should work. I would think the 2nd would be slightly better... but depends on the fans... most important is where the hot air goes once it's out of the tent...

if it is just being sucked back in through the intake it is no good... I have experience with this...

I have had the same problem with my past setup a couple years ago.
The tent will be in a walk in closet, I've been trying to think of a venting solution. I can't make holes in the walls because I rent an apartment. I will probably vent the heat into my bedroom that has an ac during the hot seasons. If I go with a 6" fan it will be the Sunleaves Windtunnel, seems like a quiet reliable option.

I totally feel you on the wall situation, I do the AC route too and I have to tell you it can be rough... I don't even have my 400w hooked up yet either. Good luck bro. I have heard good things bout that fan but never used one...

I like this idea the best ^^^^ but put your fan between the carbon filter and the cooltube , have te air blowing through the tube instead up pulling it through . & make the exhaust vent completely out side the room , not jus the tent , the whole room . outside if at all possible , maybe into the attic or basement would work . your room the tent is in is going to be your lung room & thats the room your going to control the temps with , with AC or heat .... then the passive intake will draw it in to the tent & out of the room .
2 6" tubes going into the bottom of the tent will give you plenty of intake , no need for inline fans blowing air in . that can create possitive pressure in the tent & blow stink out into the main room . Intake is 2x the ehaust for best results .
thats the basic set up of a tent in a bedroom scenario that works the best .... IMHO :)

Do you have an attic above it ??? a 6" hole is easy to patch . especially in a closet ceiling or wall .

I use a 2 x 4 x 4 tent for my moms . its got a 4' 8 bulb T5 rack 350 watts . its not air cooled & i have a 4" ventilation system & it works great . so 400 in a tent that size ... 6" vent sysyem will work great :)

good luck with it dude !!!

I had 2 sometimes 3 600w lights in roughly same size tent and 6" fans were overkill with cool tubes.
