2x Nirvana Super Skunk & 1x F2 (african sativa land race X Jamaican Skunk)

Hi guys, nice to meet everyone, let me introduce myself. I am located at around 15 degrees N of the equator. Definitely not a beginner but still just learning lots from all the great people who post all the great articles here, its a wealth of knowledge that can't be found elsewhere. Anyway here we go.

Being so close to the equator we are almost at 12/12 all year around. I have here 2 x Nirvana Super skunk, germinated in 24hrs the paper towel method, and here they are 2 days later.
Soil is pro mix with 5% bat guano for the seedlings.

1 x African Gold<---name I given the cross (F2): A cross between Local landrace African Sativa(100% Sativa) X Jamaican Skunk(80%Indica) Here are some F2 Seeds as well as the seedling, at 5days, hope its a girl.

The F1 from the first cross was extremely resinous and gold coloured, smelling of sweet incense with skunky background. When lit burned very , very slow with a candy incense skunk smell, that was very sweet to the nostrils, taste the same.
Very Indica- couch lock effect, have you just there in a daze sort of spaced out. Definitely give you the munchies, straight ultimate appetite stimulator. I really didn't take the time out to take pics of the F1's but here is shot of a bud from the African X Jamaican Cross. The seeds in the above shot are from the following bud.

I was extremely disappointed with this strain, grew it out 3 years ago and it was great- huge fat nugs, a really, really sweet taste and quite potent. Nirvana has obviously reworked it. These ladies were extremely leafy, airy sativa-type buds, no sweet taste at all. I'm curious to see how yours turn out!

Hmm, I hear that. I have been hearing nothing but lots of mixed mostly negative feedback about Nirvana and their gear, especially superskunk. Its my first time purchasing seeds from em, its just that they were so friggin cheap and I gave em a shot! Sorry to hear the dissapointment from your last grow. Makes me wonder if these seeds they are selling are probably F2's not the original F1 from the original cross, like the ones you said you grew 3 years ago.

I checked out your album, at least now I have an idea what to expect, especially if they don't have that nice sweet skunky smell. Was the smoke any potent at all? Or a complete waste? Also how long did you vegg for? and flower? Thanks for your interest and reply mate.


Well I still have faith in the African Gold which should be really nice. who know I guess we'll see how it turns out, if they start shaping up like yours we'll know. Here is a shot of the African Gold, a couple days older.

thanks for joining the show Stevius, seem like you got the best seat in the house, do make yourself very comfortable bro. I am in a great mood as I am updating this thread. Just finished puffin on about .5g of some blueberryhaze and I am feeling so very good and slightly dazed, but energetic. I hope you brought a smoke along with you, since no bud porn as yet, but I will post some shots from my last plant. WR

Here is my little update..

According to the light cycle we are currently getting 11:30hrs sunlight and 12:30hrs of darkness at the equalatorial region where I dwell. So I am keeping my thumbs crossed that these are gonna show sex probably by the 6th week and begin flowering, test grow so getting a lot of bud is not a problem, quality is what matters for me, not quantity with this grow here.

The F2 is 1 month from seed in the following pic, on its 3rd node. Growing nicely if you would ask me. No nutes, just organics and sunlight.
Its been 12days since the last update....

The superskunk, one left, I decided to cull a male who was growing vertical very fast, tall and spindly, it was obvious it was a male even though it barely made it to 2 weeks old. lol

Experience always show that when seeds planted from the same strain germinate at the same rate, then all of a sudden one takes off faster than the rest all other things being equal you know its a boy. So I did what I had to do, no waste of anyones time. So down to 1 Nirvana Superskunk. So far no scent as yet, but its still a very good bit early.
The one superskunk -pretty sure its a girl - (keep my fingers crossed - acting like I grew this strain before)

Oh yeah, this is what I've been smoking on., the stuff that makes me feel so good posting this update!!..We call this one here: Hazelberry.

Update: African Gold F2 coming along ok. The weather is very rainy and cloudy around this time of year, so not too much growth, but coming along just fine I think.

The Nirvana Superskunk now 21days old, very indica dominant by the leaf structure, big difference watching the sativa dominant AFrican Gold.

I was bored so I germed a GHS White Rhino, pictured at 5days. Definitely one of the most vigorous strains I have ever worked with.

Oh yeah, bored and germed a colombian skunk bagseed. Who knows what goodness it may bring. Time will tell.

Weather a bit overcast with lots of scattered showers lately, so plants not getting as much sunset as they should be for maximum growth, but getting alot of rain water to make up for it. See you guys around next week with a next update. Oh yeah here is some more bud for ya. This is what I am smoking now.

Sexing Time

Here is an update that should have occured a while ago, but better late than never.
The weather is fair to rainy, partly cloudy for the most. Plants get approx 6 hours of full sunlight, the other 5 and a half or so its cloudy, so partial.
The African Gold F2 turned out to be a male--whatever...lol. He showed sex at 5 weeks of 12/12 from seed, reaching 5 nodes, and on its 6th set of leaves.

The Superskunk well the one I kept after the cull turns out to be a girl. Pictured 6 days since showing sex at almost or exactly 4 weeks from seed. So looks like my decision to get rid of fast growing SSkunk was spot on, most likely was a male.

Well the GHS White Rhino is femmed, looking good. Probably will show sex in another week or so, pictured at 22 days here.
