I remember a thread like this in the Den but I can't find one here in the Music section.
Anyhow this icon deserves his own thread.

A martyr for his cause, he was truly the realest, greatest rapper of all time, combining music with sociopolitical concepts to create gems of truth.

I think one interesting thing this thread could bring to light is all the great unreleased songs out there that many people have never heard. To this day I still find random songs on youtube or imeem that are originals I've never heard before! The unreleased songs are BY FAR some of his best work. Anything released on posthumorous albums is likely complete shit...his lyrics butchered by new beats that don't fit the song.

Case in point, Still I Rise. Horrible album version, great original.

Another is Thugs get Lonely Too - great original beat.

Feel free to discuss the legend and his best songs. I'll post more unreleased stuff later. For now I'll give you this. OG remasters vol 1-4.

There are probably only a dozen or less rappers that I really like, but Tupac was definitely the greatest. Especially for mainstream hip-hop, very intellectual stuff if you look past the MTV songs.

Life Goes On
Troublesome '96
Breathin'
Tradin' War Stories
Changes
Brenda's Got A Baby
Hellrazor
I Ain't Mad At 'Ya
Heaven for a 'G'
Until the End of Time (You have to get past the production, and just listen to 'pac.)
Looking at the World Through My Rear View (Same as above, and with most posthumous releases.)
When Thug's Cry
Wonder if Heaven's Got a Ghetto

There are really a LOT of excellent Tupac songs, way too many to list here, but these are a few of my personal favorites.

What do you think of Breathin, YUKON? "Woke up with fifty enemies plottin' my death, all fifty seein' visions of me shot in the chest". I love that song.

Their were about 18 bootleg cd's that were floating around Los Angeles after his Death almost all his unreleased tracks, many were a little rough but not his lyrics. My favorites were staring at my life thru the rear-view underground version. And Ghetto Fabulous Remix with Pac , His opening verse is one of the Greatest of all Time .

He had a bigger vision one that would of changed everything, this is not rumor either, look at Pac's last interviews on you tube. so far no one has stepped in his shoes.

The best Tupac Mix is Rap Phenomenon by Green lantern and DJ Vlad it's been out for a while, but for those who haven't heard it,its worth getting.
