2nd Indoor Grow 400W HPS

Well here it is my 2nd indoor earth scrog. 3 x Sativas. Hell don't ask me what breed they are! I have no clue.

I had 10 plant's handed to me from my friend. They where sown in January of this year... Yes January, left too there own devices in an attack loft with one miserable source of light from a 2x2 skylight :( They where more like fuckin bean stalks when I got them stretching for light at about 2 feet tall and 3 miserable nodes only. I placed 1 out side planted it in plain old earth next to some nettles. The light was terrible almost no sun in that 3 week outdoor period. I brung her in and she was promptly given decent light & company with the other 2 lady's in the closet 18/6 for a period of 3 weeks.

Aug the 24th I put them under 12/12 and these are some recent Images taken yesterday 26th Sept and day before. Sorry about the quality as it's not much of a Macro Camera though better than nout I suppose.

Clones

Clones

Ok,
x10 Clone Cuttings taken from Big Moma... Big Moma happened too be the African Queen that was outdoors for a short period in soil. They are 9 Day's old now and these picturs where taken today 27th Sept 04. All plant cuttings seem too be vigerous except 1 "There is always one" They have all taken on nice Root Growth in there little Clone Dome :D

They sit in a wee home made propagator from a Goldfish Plastic Tank. They are placed on a polystyrene base for heat retention and insulation. Simply placed on a window cill during the day and in a room on top of a hi-unit for the evening. The height they are placed during the night enables them too receive good temps as the house cools in the eve. I leave a Phillips Fluro 950 Lumens on throughout the night. These look like promising clones taken at approx 30 day's from flowering Moma. I got 1 Banna/Male Flower on Moma 2 I noticed it yesterday when taking the pictures. I may leave it and take some Pollen from it and x pollinate 1 latteral branch on Moma2... Will this guarentee me femanised seeds!

Anyway here are the Clones in there wee propagator. Tommorrow I will take them out and transplant them into 1 Gallon Pots of the same Medium as above for grow#3. There is also a picture of Big Moma#1 when she was outdoors with her cousins..... The Stinging Nettles.

They smell and taste like Mango...

Gday Hashasin, great stuff that your taking on sativa strains indoors in a small space. Ive been wanting to do that for some time now.

How do you know for sure there is no root rot? Just curious...as you said you dont use drainage holes in your pots?

I dont think ive ever heard of anyone doing that with soil growing before.

Hi LJ,
Nice too meet you
I'm going by other previous grows only LJ! Never seemingly had any problems with root rot.... After crytical examination of the root balls when the Plant/Plants have been harvested there have been no obvious sign of degenerating roots. Of course there are always new roots being produced at a healthy rate as long as moma is in good condiotion and happy.... So there has too be dead root mass in the medium! I guess there are a few products commercialy available for the safe brekdown of these old roots? Though I tend too let nature run it's course and everything seems too go ok.

Thank's for the nice comments on the Girl's and I look forward to seeing you around... Good luck if you decide too take on Sativas in-door I find it most rewarding as I love too manipulate these very fast growing Sativas.

Sounds interesting man

What would you do if you needed top leach or flush the soil when you dont have drainage holes?

ps: nice to meet you too :)

I know what your getting @ LJ, and it's a very valid point ;)
I would get a "RED HOT POKER" from the fire and quickly implement some drain holes.... Though I hope I never have too address that particular problem man... :abduct:

I guess that I'm not the only indor Soil Grower using containers with out drainage holes! It just seemed natural too me too leave no holes, that way I have pay more attention to my watering/feeding regime. With the granite chip base I guess that helps as well. Though thinking about it logicaly I have never watered/fed plants in smaller pots as much as the water has actualy been visible running out the drainage holes! Hope that has answered your question my man. Hey maybe catch you in the Chats IRC#.

Oh I never had time today too pot out my Clones so tomorrow I will get that done. Damb these mamas are stinking me out...

nice grow

nice grow

I dont understand how you can go with out holes in youre pots? How do you know when thay need watered?I wait untill the pots get light.I guess after the roots grow to the bottom of the pot thay might suck all the water off the bottom if you dont water often.I bet if you make holes in the bottom so thay dry out faster and you water more thay would grow better.Just my 2 cents.Nice grow

I read my plants like I read my kids or pet's Okie, they tell me exactly what they need by there look. Don't ask me how to do that  It's something that you can not teach it comes natural... Next grow I will however punch some holes through the base. I still think though if you can see liquid coming from the base of a pot your overdoing it! I take my time too water plant's Okie and observe there status through out the day I know whether they have been under or over fed or watered.

Thank's for the thumbs up on my grow man and nice too meet you, see you around.

Clones a go...go...

LOL i think i know what you mean :)

Does this mean you dont have a need to flush your plants before harvest as there are no drain holes?

Look forward to watching your grow journal :)

hahahahaha :D holy snappin duckshit if you can grow without drainage holes and get nute free tasting budz id love to test some thats for sure. I just seriously have neverheard of anyone being able to grow without drainage holes in soil unless you plant those areo beds under the soil beds...like Soma i think..he uses beds instead of pots...anyway im dribbling now coz ive gone and had more bucket bongs :D

Look forward to your grow aswell mate,

Do you put a dome on them or just whack em strait into the medium when cloning.?

These motherfuckers are fully fledged clones now Leeroy? They where in the Clone Dome for about 12/14 days they rooted well with in 8 day's. I'm not sure if you mean do I dome the mothers when they are transplants and into there new medium? If that's the case no hell no just whack the fuckers in Leeroy as they had been hardened with the clone dome off for a few days on the window cill. Hey Lerroy your grow's fuckin rock man they are looking good bro. Here are some new pics today and they are fuckin Dank man. Sweet Fruits of the Bloom and Candy Sticks, smells like MANGO I swear fruity fuckin tooty...

Sorry about your log in problems Leeroy! Hope it works out for you soon...

Here is some of the girl's sample, the Trichomes are @ diffferent stages of maturity just now these buds are fully cloudy that I cut.

I can not understand how these plants are maturing so quick? predominantly Sativa that's come as quite a surprise too me! judging by the Trichome changes these girls are going too be ready 45 too 50 day's. As I am still not sure what the hell the strain is it's turned out too be one of my best grows too date. It looks like I will be placing the 6 clones I have of these momas under 18/6 400W Growlux sooner than I expected. I may have a nice surprise for Xmas with a larger crop, there are also the 3 clones from my 1st grow ready too go 18/6 they are more like mini Bonsai now. It look's like I'm just hitting my clone targets bang on time for the next grow.

The smoke was an excellent hi.... being euphoric and rushy with the 1st half of the "J" cerebral and heady. The taste is a very heavy trace of Mango Fruit it's so sweet and before I sparked up, just inhaling the sweet aromatic taste from the "J" was almost preventing me from sparking the damn "J" up :D I then made a fatal mistake with out realising that it was creeping on me I finished it and prepared another (Greedy Pig) lol I can not remember much after the 2nd half of "J" No2, It knocked me out... I woke up 3 hrs later to roll another and retired to my pit.

SHROOMS

SHROOMS

Hi,
I was out SHROOM hunting today, they where no where to be seen this season until now! I had a good feeling that they may have come up as all of a sudden! Fungi types where showing up like they should in Autumn before the big frosts here in the garden and along the edge of the woodland. So here we go some pictures of our own native hallucnagenic Shroom Species, well one of the few that are for tripping dudes. We can pick fresh Shrooms hear and it's legal. It is only illegal if they are prepared. That covers a broad discription and different law enforcment agency's may interpret something like storing them a fridge as deamed Illegal. I must however point out too all.....

"DO NOT PICK MUSHROOMS" Especialy if you have no clue as too there type... IE they may be TOXIC even worse you may end up In hospital and DEAD!!!

REMEMBER DON'T PICK SHROOMS...

I was Shroom picking serious style today. I collected the largest amount of Shrooms I have gathered in a long time 1.5Kg So there they are dumped out the bag and then spread on a news paper ready too dry.

I sampled my 2nd Lady lastnight, it's very powerful smoke after 2 pufffs. Nice cerebral head Hi, though smoking too much puts you down and into sleep slumber LOL. The hit lasts me 6 1/2 hrs so I must be doing something right! Same taste as the 1st sample from moma 1 quickly dried over an open fire with natural heat. There is no taste of green and it's again seriously fruity and mild, a very pleasent smoke. It will not be long now untill harvest, I estimate another 2 weeks tops if the Trichomes reach the amber state I shall take them down the smoke would then be too narcotic for me.
