2nd Cup THC Valencia 2012

Hey ICMag family,

"HortiLab" was invited to visit the 2nd Cannabis Cup in Valencia, Spain.

The Association THC Valencia did a great job...it was one of a kind fiesta with lots & lots of great smoke....you don´t see an event like this in the NL. Not even remotely close. Unfortunately.

Anyways...everybody had a great time in Valencia...and the greenhouse the event took place was smoke filled soon after the doors opened.

After arriving at the Valencia Airport, Wysky the president of the Association picked me up with a big bag of his own C99 cross "Blue Dynamite".

I started to roll a fat spliff for the short ride to the Hotel next to event location and was immediately surprised by the very high quality of those Spanish buds.

Once we arrived, I bumped into Pau, growshop owner in Valencia and member of the local "Family Ganjah" seedbank who surprised me with some organic "Sour Joker" and "Sour Amnesia" buds as well as a great variety of other strains.

se acerca la 3 cannabis cup
1. Los concursantes deberán ser mayores de edad.
2. Sólo podrán inscribirse a concurso los socios de Thc Valencia o personas que sean soci@s de alguna otra asociación cannabica y que estén al corriente de pago de la cuota.
3. Cada concursante podrá entregar un máximo de 2 variedad por categoría.
4. Todas las variedades se entregarán debidamente etiquetadas a los organizadores.
5. Los cogollos deberán estar manicurados, limpios de hojas y tallos y exentos de plagas y mohos. Los organizadores se reservan el derecho a desestimar la presentación de muestras por razones de calidad.
6. Cada concursante tendrá que entregar una cantidad mínima de:
EXTERIOR: 12 gr: Puntuaras 8 muestras
INTERIOR:10 gr: Puntuaras 6 muestras
EXTRACCION: 3 gr: Puntuaras 3 muestras.
EXTRACCION BHO (Aceites): 1 gr untuaras 0,5 gr
7. Las muestras de interior y exterior deberán venir envasadas en recipientes de 1gr, las muestras de extracción en recipientes de 0,5gr, los aceites de 0,25gr
8. El plazo de entrega de muestras quedara abierto desde el día 01-01-2013 hasta el 12-01-2013.(Este dia se repartira entre el jurado popular las muestras a evaluar)
9. A todo participante se les entregara sus correspondientes muestras para evaluar junto con la ficha de evaluación que deberá calificar y devolverla antes del 22-01-2013, para poder así seleccionar a las posibles ganadoras el día del evento que será el 26-01-2013 por jueces cualificados.
10. Los organizadores clasificarán y numerarán las muestras para posteriormente entregarlas al jurado de forma anónima.
11. El jurado sólo podrá puntuar las variedades por su tacto, aroma, sabor, espesor y sensaciones-efecto.
12. Después de valorar y puntuar todas las variedades en el documento informativo el jurado se las entregará a los organizadores.
13. La entrega de premios se hará el día 26 de Enero de 2012 En Una Masia , premiando a los 3 mejores de cada categoría.
14. Cualquier participante que intente boicotear las puntuaciones quedara reflejado en el recuento y sera eliminado del concurso.

Finally the third THC Valencia cup is coming up!

On January 26 this year's crops will have had enough time to be dried and cured and it will be the day the very best growers of the community of Valencia, as well as international grow specialists will reunite. Already in the first edition of the cup, which had 65 competing samples and 350 people attending, was no lack of representatives from the Netherlands, Italy, USA and France, among others. In the second edition the number of competing samples was 84 with the assistance of 600 people.

The majority of the prices were won by Catalan cultivators with their selections of Diesel, Fresh diamond and Session Reus. We hope to be able to raise the number of samples and assistants and are proud to announce Reggae and Ska personalities, Djs and a few more surprises, which we are preparing in order to brighten up the event.

Samples can be submitted in the period from January 1st til 12th. Don't miss out on this landmark event in this field in Valencia legal terms and conditions:

1. Contestants must be of legal age of 18 years or above.

2. Eligible to participate are only members of the THC Valencia or any other Cannabis association and have there current membership fees paid.

3. Every contestant may submit 2 different strains per category.

4. All the samples have to be labeled properly when dispatched to the organizers. Bases: 1. Contestants must be of legal age. 2. Only be entitled to contest the Valencia Thc partners or persons who are soci @ s of cannabis and other association that are aware of fee payment. 3. Each entrant may submit a maximum of 2 variety by category. 4. All varieties are delivered properly labeled to organizers.

5. The buds should be cleaned thoroughly, free of leaves and stems and without any bugs or fungus. The organizers reserve the right to reject the submission of samples for quality reasons.

6. Each contestant will have to provide a minimum of: EXTERIOR: 12 g (this will give you the occasion to evaluate 8 samples a judge) INTERIOR: 10 g (will let you consume and judge 6 samples ) EXTRACTION (Hashishn) : 3 g (this will give you the pleasure of 3 samples) Extraction BHO (Oils): 1 g (and you will assess 0,5g )

7. The indoor and outdoor samples should come packaged in containers of 1 g, Extracting samples in containers of 0.5 g, 0.25 gr for oils

8. WE are happy to receive your samples within the period from 01/01/2013 to 01/12/2013. (this day the samples will be delivered to the members of the jury)

9. Any participant will receive the related samples to evaluate, along with the evaluation form. Return of the form is necessary until 01/22/2013, in order to enable our qualified jury to choose the winners at the event on 01/26/2013

10. The organizers of the event label the samples anonymously with numbers and subsequently deliver them to the jury .

11. The jury may only rate varieties for their touch, smell, taste, and thickness and effect.

12. After evaluation and rating all varieties the jusry will inform the organizers.

13. The awards will be given on January 26, 2012 in a farmhouse, rewarding the top 3 in each category.

14. Any who cheats or manipulates in any way, will be eliminated from the contest.

Members of "any other Cannabis association"

This would mean a Cannabis Social Club in Spain, I guess their legal team wants this as cover in case of any nasty supply charges.

Sadly, we cannot just form an IC club, as they need to have your real name and address for the records. Some of us are members of clubs over here, the problem is you have to be introduced by someone you know, in person.

My club does not really want part time Socios, coming once or twice a year, as the membership keeps the club alive and [mine anyway] has limited membership to keep it small, intimate and friendly.. So I cannot just sign up people I know etc. etc.

You may well find others who can help out more, this is just the rules of one....
