What's new

2nd attempt- 2 cheese plants from seed were male, this time 2 cheese clones!

Well I started 2 seeds that I got from a batch of cheese from our local dispensary, and both turned out to be males. :bashhead:

This go around I will be growing 2 cheese clones with a blue cheese clone about 3 weeks behind them. The 2 cheese clones have been vegging for a couple weeks and will be placed in the flowering chamber this weekend. I am thinking about using a scrog because of my limited space but am unsure of how to start it. I have bent and tied the trunk of one of the clones as it is already getting too big for my veg chamber. Pictures will follow tomorrow....

My cabinet has 3 sep. chambers, a 400W HPS for flowering (that BARELY fits in my cab), and I am using CFL's for the veg chamber (4 24W 6500k, 1 85W 4100K). Passive intake for each chamber, 85 CFM comp. case fan exhausting my veg chamber and 110 CFM comp case fan exhauting flowering chamber with DIY carbon filter, 95 CFM comp case fan pulling hot air from my hood/reflector outside....

I am using DWC bubbler buckets (with help from reading a lot posts from here over the last couple months) with 2 airstones in each 2 gallon bucket. I am using organics ( i believe ) using the Fox Farm nutes along with cal/mag and hygrozyme, but I use the hygrozyme sparlingly because I notice a brown film that collects in my buckets when using this product. :violin:

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I wanted to thank everyone who posts here because I have learned a lot from you all already, and I appreciate the motivation provided for me to grow my own!!!! Pics will follow soon

Hey Wishbone, actually I sent the male to a local dispensary, I am hoping the grower there with more experience will breed it with something nice (and drop me a few seeds to boot!) so we will see what happens. I would have done it myself but my space is very small and I dont want to infect my next batch. I reeeeeally want to get a harvest under my belt so I didnt want to "waste" 5-6 more weeks on the males.... although I guess I could have waited a week and collected some. Oh well, live and learn.... I know I have a lot to learn : )

Pics I promised

Pics I promised

Ok here are my ladies in my veg chamber.... I will be moving the LST'd clone to flower in a couple days, followed by the next cheese clone 2 weeks later, followed by the blue cheese clone 2 weeks after that.

Updated pics

Ok this is the LST'd cheese clone that will be going 12/12 tomorrow:

Here is a picture of my seedling/cloning area which has 3 Canalope Haze seedlings that are sprouting now:

Here is a picture of my veg chamber, it is a little crowded atm as I am running all 3 chambers in one cabinet:

PH ranges from 5.6-6.6 (does it swing so much because i am using organics?)
TDS=900
temps 69-80 degrees
humidity 45-60 percent

Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated, for this is my 2nd grow, my first 2 seeds turned out to both be male so I aborted as soon as I found that out.....

I'll post pictures of my flowering chamber tomorrow when I have my cheese in there :joint:

Cheese clone flowering and new Sweet Tooth clone

Here is a picture of my flowering chamber with the lonely cheese clone in it. I will be adding the other cheese clone to the chamber in another 2 weeks....

I just got a Sweet tooth clone that I am going to let veg for 3 weeks or so then will flower, I am excited about this strain too :joint:

Anyone have any suggestions for how I could implement a Scrog using multiple strains and a perpetual set-up? Should I stick to SOG'ing instead? I would like to stay with multiple strains as I am not looking for huge yields, but am looking for quality and being able to grow a sativa and indica for the different parts of the day.... Any help would be appreciated as I am a nooooob!

Here is an updated pic of my LST'd cheese clone in my flowering chamber, she is showing her pistils although you can't see them in my pics. She is stretching nicely and filling out veeeeery niiice. Side view:

Been a couple weeks because I have been BUSY! Had to transplant the cheese clone that was in the 2 gallon bucket and it only vegged for 2 weeks?! I may have had some PH burn from my plant getting to 5, and I think I over-fed her since I started using the Fox Farm soluables (even tho I only used 1/2 strength). I moved one of my cheese clones into a newly bought grow tent, and have moved a Blue cheese clone into my flowering chamber.

Does she look ok? This is the farthest I have gone in a grow, so any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. She looks a little droopy or curling, is that bad?

The seedlings are all 19 days old and were recently potted in FFOF soil, I plan on making one a mom and cloning her if I get a good plant.

Is this a problem?

Is this a problem?

These pics were taken day 29 of flower, 3.5 gallon DWC with 4 airstones and 2 pumps. Ph dropped to 5.0 for a couple days in a row : / I also gave her a little extra Grow Big because I was seeing a Nitrogen def so early in flowering. From what I understand Cheese is 8 week finish so it shouldnt be looking like that already, right? I also moved the plant away from the light as she was about 9-10" from the top of the flowering sites. I thought she would be ok at this distance since I have an aircooled 400WHPS but maybe it's too close? Any help would be appreciated as this is the furthest I have gone in a grow.

Also, is my canopy too dense? Should I cut some of the dying leaves away to increase airflow? I'm afraid of getting budrot, although I have 4 fans in my flowering chamber in addition to the 4" vortex exhausting....

I forgot to mention I used Bushmaster a couple weeks ago, at 1/2 strength, so many variables.... I wanted to limit how many variables and keep this simple but it has become much more complicated because of my limited space running in my cabinet.... maybe I should talk to some of the micro-grow guys? :badday:

That or I am over-reacting to what the plant normally does when it flowers? I guess I expected it to yellow, just not so early.... Has anyone else grown Cheese here? I have done many searches on here but cant find what the plant likes i.e. lower temps or lower nutes....

should i remove these?

should i remove these?

Im starting my flush today and have a question about damaged leaves. I know it is normal for fan leaves to yellow during flower but I have crispy fan leaves. The damage is going into the spear leaves of the buds also, with kinda brown spotting.

I read you should remove leaves 50 percent or more damaged, but about 2/3 of my fans leaves on top of the plant look this way. Please help, I dont want to get budrot from having dead leaves retreating into my buds :badday:
Pictures are at day 40

yeah the seeds I got were from Cheese in a Cali dispensary, they came out of an Oz we bought and there was about 20 seeds or so in it. The first 2 I grew out were male as well...... The 2 cheese I have going now are clones, I am pulling one in a week at about 55 days and Im trying to bring the other I have (in a DR40 tent and CFLS) to 70 days. Im still new to growing so I am trying DWC, soil, and organics to find what I like best, and am trying to go perpetual, harvesting every 2-3 weeks. I can't believe how much time this takes up, but it sure is fun learning!

I hope you are happy with your Cheese, it is one of my favorite smokes ever, if it is the real cheese! There seem to be many fakes going around.... I havent had good cheese around here in close to a year so I can't wait to harvest!

I see you are growing Sweet tooth, and Strawberry Cough too, I just picked those clones up and are flowering them this week..... I'll go check out your grow to see what I can expect!
