I was just wondering if y'all thought one of these little 25cfm blowers would be sufficient enough to air cool a 150? (seperate intake line , to bulb, to seperate exhaust powered by the 25cfm blower)

25 CFM CYCLOHM BLOWER

Used, Howard Industries Cyclohm blower. Aluminum body.

* 115 VAC
* 22 Watts
* 3-3/4" diam. x 3/4" squirrel cage.
* 3-1/4" diam. inlet

I'm assuming you won't be pushing or pulling through carbon?
If that's the case, I think a computer fan might be a better option.
Some computer fans can push 100 cfm's of air, and will probably run quieter than that squirrel cage fan you've posted.

Also, this is 150 watts of watt? A cfl produces less heat than HPS and MH bulbs.
I have a 80cfm 120mm Panaflo computer fan in a cabinet and it sufficiently cools my 125 watts of cfl.

Let's see if someone else can shed some light. Hope I gave you some ideas,

^^Actually a CFL produces more heat per watt than an HPS or MH...it's a less efficient bulb, so that wasted energy is emitted as heat.

That 60cfm is about the lowest I'd consider using for a 150 personally...

I would at least go with something around 80cfm or better, you should be able to find something for about 10-20 bucks at a computer store. Radio shack would also have something but they cost more there.

Okay, found the best idea yet (I think), it's a 160cfm dual fan, each fan is 80cfms. One for scrubber, one for air-cooling.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this type of fan. Says they are for cooling computers, so may in fact not be powerful enough

Ya I never quite understood that one...I've read it a few times but kinda just passed it off as a technical explanation that's a bit different in practice.
My 125 watt cfl produces MUCH less than 1/2 the heat of my 250 hps.
It's a hard comparison to make, but I suppose I'll read up more on this.

Ganico...some interesting and small blowers you've posted up. I'm wondering if you're concerned with the dB (decibel) levels that these fans make. I'm going to assume that the fans in those aluminum casing will make a fair amount of noise.
The last one there has only two fans pushing 80cfm, and weights 12 pounds.
Check out some 120mm computer case fans from a computer supply shop. There's a range of fans that feature very low dB levels with moderate to high cfm (especially compared to those you've featured).

Just some ideas. Are you going to be filtering air with these fans through carbon?

Do you mean a carbon scrubber? If so those fans aren't going to be powerful enough to push air through a carbon filter.
