250w?

For years I have flowered using a 150w hps and I use a LED to veg. I just popped a few seeds again and they are still in Solo cups under a dome and a couple CFLs.

I was screwing around and saw on ebay I could get a 250w digital/dimmable mh/hps ballast for about $68 delivered. I could use the same bulb moguls so it would be super easy to set up, just wire it.

But I am wondering if it would be worth it at all. That LED and 150w hps are actually okay.

For that price I would get it, can't go wrong having more light

That's cheap! More light is more heat, but it will not be significant at that wattage. Sure what the hell, go for it, you will have a larger yield, and who doesn't love that!

My thought exactly as long as you can deal with the heat.

Look on your 150w light. If it is a security light chance are it is actually using 300w of power. So the 250w would save money and does a better job. I started with a 150w HPS security light until someone pointed out the power consumption on them.
