I while back i lent my buddy a 250 MH ballast (its a sunlight supply co ballas), when i lent him the light it worked flawlessly, recently he calls me to tell me the light system turns off and turns on, sometimes flickers. He also recently his dog got into his shitty lil grow room and tore everything up , i dont know if my light suffered any blows(he says the dog only attacked the plants, but i dunno ever since that day the that ballas/light never worked right), all i know is that i brought him two working lighting systems and now one is deff not working(turns on and off every 30 secs, then just stays off )the other seems to be working but i dunno i have a feeling hes gonna break that one too. The system cost me 230$ each and i got two at the same time and shippping wasnt cheapthey were brand new im hoping it can be fixed.
When i turn it on the bulb lights up partially, the ballast hums like normal yet after about 20 seconds it shuts off, no light, no hum. Then about 30 seconds toa minute later the ballast will start to hum again. I dont know SHIT about electronics, but im willing to open this sucker up if i have to. Does any one know or have any ideas what the problem is??? He is apparently having a simular problem with the other 250w MH that i lent him(when he turns it on it flickers n hums strabgly). Is his house current fucking up my lights???
@ this point this guy bought both of these lighting systems...im just trying to see if i can fix them for him cuz i dont want him to keep blowing up gear.
My other question is how long do ballasts usually live for?? i mean ive had ballasts working for over 8 yrs persoanlly....and these 250 w ballasts i got 3 yrs ago and are usually left on 24 hrs a day...and ive grown for at least 2 years str8 with them with no problems....can someone please help???
p.s. should i call the store i bought the lights at and ask??
