250w HPS users....

I'm on my first run now.
Sonlight 250w electronic ballast. Silent and no heat.
I'm running a 50x90x160cm silverbox with 10 hindu kush ( sensi seeds ) vegging now for one week. One or two more and I'll be pulling the trigger, hoping to see 6 females. Growing in 6,5l pots on Biobizz All-mix. Today gave them first good watering and some Root juice.
I'll try posting some photos when there's something to show.

I bought the NextGen e ballast (600-400) and a 600wt hps Eye Hortilux bulb. I just read on Hortilux web site that if you use their bulbs on a e ballast that it will void the 1 year warranty. I read that e ballast use high frequency and Mag or coil ballast use low frequency. I have been using the Hortilux buld for a few months now and cant see anything wrong, but I did order the Digilux 600wt hps to see what difference it makes as far as lighting goes. I love the e ballast , runs quite and very cool. Just a fyi. The info came from BigMike at Advance Nutes. Check it out. Hortilux said that if it ignites in the e ballast that it should be ok and work fine.

I'm glad I got a 250w seeing as how its not too hot (with proper venting) and now that I got a cooling tube on it it's perfect. The deal was crazy when I first bid on it through err.bay, I didn't feel too comfortable wiring a ballast kit so I bid on a used pre-wired kit with ballast, bulb, socket, light proof vent, and squirrel cage fan for $50!

The fan was bonk and I need a new bulb just in case, still worth it though imo, and those lightproof vents are $40-$50 alone.

ya'll got some mega grows going on in here with the equivalent of two outdoor floodlights , thanks for sharing, peace be with you.

Hey all...Some shots of my 250w cab, 'CHEESE' by GHS... I got a little over 3 oz. I didnt have the nutes dialed so might have been able to get a little more. Not much stretch after flipping, and I harvested a little over 8 weeks. Could have let her go annother one, I know.

Yeah, of the 5 feminised 'Cheese' seed I got from GHS, 3 where Indica/sativa, and 2 where sativa dominant. I only grew the one indoors...Have you had success with any other strains from GHS?

big up and merry christmas to all the 250 hps growers! ive got a sunmaster dual spectrum 250 atm - not in the pic as i had removed the reflector to change the can filter - which allowed me to take a decent pic of the canopy. the two sidelights are little t5 UVB reptile tubes for extra frosting

Running my 1st 250w electronic grow. Got the combo with the batwing from ebay, will this reflector be okay? or will it contribute to more fluffy nugs? seeing as how I gotta keep it at least 10" away. Wanna get a glass reflector soon, seen plants growing right up against it np.

hey smoketrichs 10" isnt that far. you need to keep the bulb a bit of a way off the plants so you light up the whole canopy. 8-10" is about right. glass will vut out 5-10% of the light anyway so i prefer not to use an enclosed hood if i can get away with it. havibg plants growing right up against the glass will mean one or two buds are getting most of your light

Hiya folks

A while back a kind friend in the Uk gave me some seeds, he tells me they are an unhybridised Afghan from the 70s. I have 4 females, 4 different phenos. Two are purple, two green. One stands out as being the most intensely coloured lady I've ever grown and she is also the biggest yielding lady I've grown, huge buds for a 250w HPS and a 1.7l pot of coco. Here she is at 48 days of 12/12, from the look of the triches, she will probably go 60 days.

WOW! I wish i could get a clone, that looks BOMB!
