250w HPS users....

Hello M8

I currently use a 250w hps, your plants will vary with a hps the one bang under the light will be quicker , the other will be slower.
Good luck and keep out those light leaks.

i finished my first run with 250w hps about a month ago... i think it is perfect for personal use growers.
really nice buds and not too much need of energy.
but next time i will tie the plants down for a better yield.
this time i got about 100grams, which isn't too much for 250w.
but i just let the plants grow and it was my first time indoor, i think i can improve this a lot ;)

Looks nice, what strains do you have?

Thanks! :) I have LSD and White Widow, the longer one is WW. I had a bit trouble with it, stretching like mad, about 20 inches from the flip...
And I thought I could keep this low. And I did, I snapped all them branches so that they are in level now. I did not take them apart, just bend them that they stay low. Don't know whats the term for that, sorry. :( I also have a couple of white russians, don't know how theyre gonna come out, they only got like 1/4 gallon of medium.. We'll see.

@gates3rd Thanks! I looked through your albums, I like your grows, could be from my own closet if I went on soil! :)

Greetings all....Some quality looking plants in this thread.
I'll soon be upgrading to 250hps when the coin permits, currently using 300w dual spectrum CFL & need to get maximum weight.

My grow cab is 23" x 19" and 44" vertical to the bottom of me current reflector.

Do you guys think i will have problems with heat? I don't think theres enough room for a cooltube and ducting. Does a 250w hps emit much more heat than a 300w CFL?

Cheers

Your cab is the same as mine.
I had to put glass under the reflector and make an active intake.
After that everything was fine until I grew out some grapefruits till they were touching the glass this last go around. Temps were almost 90*, but so was ambient temp. So i'm upgrading to an Arctic Sun cool tube. If your cab is 23" wide you can fit it. Other than that no worries. Temps rarely exceeded 82-83*. I never run my exhaust fan very high - keep it down to 1/4 turn or less if possible.

Hi RudeDog,
Yes, the HPS W250 is HOT, much more then the CFL. You'll need more vents or somthing to cool your plants, CoolTube will help.

I have both cfl and hps, the cfl is for the veg time, the plants do not need the hps in the veg time, and the hps is for the flower time. they need a lot of light in the flower time. more light=more bud:wave:
