250w Freezer grow THaze x Skunk

D

Don Cotyle

Your grow is looking nice FB! I've been reading up on the sativas and found out if you gradually reduce your light times as flowering time goes on you won't get banannas in your buds, this might also help with the " don't like alot of light aspect ". I've been gradually reduceing my light cycle from 12/12 to 11/13 to 10/14 I'll end up at 8/16 by the time there ready to harvest. Sorry there wasn't any time table given. I'll let ya know how it works.

Keep your temps 50-60 lights out...look what I found in the closet :headbange

Hey Herman, how's it growin'? I could claim deadline woes at work (true) but I was really waiting for this very magic day. It's HUMPDAY! :jump: That's right, girls and boys at ...

T-Minus 60:18:49:45 and counting ...

We have hit the halfway point of the flowering period (maybe)

As you can see, my fears of overtrimming were baseless. Wilma's growin like mad. I tried several methods of canopy control the other day. Topping, super cropping and bending, to see which works best. The topped stems have stopped for the moment. The bending worked about how I would suspect, a couple of days later, they've turned up. The super cropping hardly slowed them at all. At first I thought I'd killed them as the folded area turned brown. Next morning the buds were above the fold and still growing strong.

So, how many times can you super crop a single stem? Topping seems so extreme, especially this late in flower but, boy did it stop those stems. I don't know that I have another 60 days of grow space. If you'll go back a few posts, you'll see two weeks ago when they first started through the screen and now ... :violin: Po, po, pitiful me :muahaha:

If you haven't already cut your nitrogen levels back by at least half...that's the only thing that finally stalled their streach for me! It's like they have a mind of their own

I suppose I could try dropping it. Though I'm only using about 1/2 tsp per gal as it is. Since hitting on a pH of 5.5 and EC of 1.1, my readings haven't moved in over three weeks. I'll try just adding pH adjusted tap water next time I top the res, keep my eye on pH and see what happens.

Thanks

what up FREEZER Boiiiiiiiiiii..... just read through some new posts, havent had much time to check it out.... but just wanted to say "ARE YOU DAMN GLAD YOU DIDNT HAVE 2 OF THESE GOING!!! it was a sign from god that the one was male. Now you just have to control the stretching... i would seriously consider moving the plant out of the freezer and somewhere else... you HAVE to have somewhere else to put it.... it needs way more vertical space.... and as far as the bottom buds are concerned, the THUNKS have pretty nice sized bottom buds...(THUNK is a great name for this strain for sure. typing out "thai haze x skunk #1" BLOWS. THUNK is good)

anyways, i think its time for PLAN B... you dont want to ruin your crop by letting it get burnt out from that bulb...

ill get you guys some pics up of some dried haze here soon....

good luck and post some more updates.... PM if you have any questions about the THUNKS.... it is an AMAZING hunk of genetics...

Hey Freezerboy, why noy just drop em to the bottom of rez tank and lower your screen, might give ya some more room. I toped mine 4 times and it only stalled em for a while. Good luck, they seem to have a mind of their own!

Here's a before and after shot of mine.
Tied up in the corner for 70 days flowering

100 days flowering after unleashing and settleing in

That's a big 10-4 Lil Buddy. As in a BIGGAWDAM 10-4. What the @#$%*! was I thinking? You're right it's turned out for the best.

T-Minus 51:21:12:03 and counting ...

Good news on the height control front. I tried Topping, Super Cropping and LST. Super Cropping did nothing, the plant just laughed at me. Topping was fairly effective ... for a time. The LST is working quite well. The middle shot shows a branch I bent over and tied to itself. It never stopped growing but, a week later, it's just starting to turn back up. When it gets back to the bend, it will be 6-7 inches of growth at NO ADDITIONAL HEIGHT! Woohoo! There are at least a dozen shoots tied down this way. I'm using the bottom of the reflector as my "cutoff" Anything that gets that high gets tied over.

The root porn shot isn't really indicitive of it's size. It's BIG! And THICK! And, as you can see, as clean and pink as I could ask. HubbaHubba.

Really nice work, F.B. For a pothead, you seem to show sound judgement and good attention to detail :smoke:

Your work shows in your impressive plant. I hope I do half as well as you seem to be doing.

My Hornet's Nest

P.S. Did I read in some other post by you that you've got a motorcycle? What do you ride?

Thanks Headless,

There was some panic over heat issues (increasing my light wattage from 150 to 250) where I made some stupid moves while trying to bull my way through with the flu. Other than that, I feel my best moves have been staying out of Wilma's way. There are a number of folks who've watched out for me. Lil Wayne and Don Cotyle especially (thanks, I love you guys and I don't even want your beer)

While I have decades of growing exp, this was my first DWC. Everything I know about it, I learned here at IC. While it was a desire for homegrown root porn that started Shed's transformation, I find now that it's cab porn that warms my cockles. Somewhat jealous of the multi K grows, it's the stealth cabs that fascinate me. The way people max out such small spaces. And the places they think to put them. Before I saw your Hornet's Nest ™©®, I'd have said an attic cab was nuts. Shows what I knows.

I do, in fact, ride. I've got a BMW triple. The K75. The R series went for 60 plus years before they came out with an inline. I figured the Ks would run through my lifetime but, noooooooo. They're already gone, at least as inlines. I've thrashed it for 18 years and I hope to get another 20. At that point, it'll be time to seriously reassess my riding skills. Don't want to end up like the old fogeys on South Park

Hi FB, Wilma is kicking ass!!! Excellent work on her!!! So the tieing is working for you that's great! Remember that 120 days is from the first signs of bud sites so you might want to think about an extra 30 days to get the most out of her. Those bud sites might look airy now but they should fill in nicely.

For your first indoor hydro your looking like a pro!!! Keep up the great job, Don

I first "discovered" LST in the wild 20 some years ago and loved it outdoors. In the Shed, it was a bit of a pain trying to negotiate all that string. But in conjunction with Scrog, it's working out great. Thanks fer stoppin in.

Hey NJ, Mr Kiwi. Sorry for your loss. I'll label a bud just for you. But, wait, don't touch that dial, I'll smoke it for you too. Now what would you pay?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :bashhead:

I always thought you counted from first sign of hairs but, the consensus here seemed to say the count started at 12/12 so that's where I started my counter.

Darn.

On another note, I cloned Wilma some time ago and just started some cuttings from that. The idea being to stagger grows some 60-70 days apart. Now all I gotta do is start building a second cab. Yeah I know, I keep threatening. Hopefully a "homeless" plant will start my jets.

I didn't meen to burst your bubble:p I cut mine today at exactly 120 from the turn;) You'll notice the feeder leaves dyeing back, fairly rapid, start to look for a few female male yellow nanners, should only be on a bud or 2. Must be some landrace in there!!! Tweeze em and you'll be fine, but it might be a daily vigle to hunt for em=P for the last 2-3 weeks.

Ya did a beautiful job with the Thunk, time to sit back and watch em fatten up! :jump: :jump: :jump:

Finally

 :muahaha:
