Ok, so I'm starting my first closet grow.250w hps in a pyrex bake-a-round DIY cool tube adding 150 in cfls for extra light Closet size is 2 1/2wx2 1/2dx4 1/2h Im going to cab off half of my closet I'm also starting soil as I feel this will be best for my experiance untill I feel confident I can grow hydro. I do wanna go hydro after my first grow. I was going to go with a 400w but with the space I am in I felt a 250 and some cfls will work with out heat headaches :bashhead: and is good for my budget and personal use. I bought some seeds of dr.chronic/greenhouse seeds 1 female 5 pack of a.m.s and 1 female 5 pack of the chruch. I hope they don't take too long as my light will be here soon. If anyone has ordered from here before I would love some feedback on there shipping times and if anyone has done these strains before how they are? Another question I had was my buddy was going to sell me a 265 cfm blower for my cool tube, now is this over load? Good? or any suggestions on another fan I should use. Also how often should I run the fan? The whole time the light is on? Or just in intervals on a timer? this site is great and has helped me put everything together so far thank you all!! I will be keeping a full photo diary of this grow so keep an eye out!! Happy smoking to all! Also getting down on so grapefruit at the moment and boy, its Yummy!:joint:

ventilation and heat control is the key. bring in cool outside air from the bottom and exhaust hot air on the top. Get some good fans and ducts. When you get the bread, get a cooling thermostat to control your cooling air intake. Get a remote thermometer to transmit the temps inside the grow room to a receiver in your house so you don't always have to go in there to check out your temps. They are cheap at ace hardware or homedepot / lowes. 20 bucks. Make sure you use good soil and good water. (RO or distilled) Put earthworm castings and dolomitic lime in your soil (correct amounts) Run your lights at night when its cooler. Once your seeds are germinated, dont overwater them and don't fertilize until week 2 and then only at a very weak amount. LST your plants at week 4. Harvest a bumper crop!

Thank you for all your help! I will be getting a remote thermometer today.

As for the cooling thermostat could you tell me a little more about what it does? How much they run? Where I can get one at a good price? Will it work with a 265cfm dayton? Also is a 265cfm to much for a 250w cool tube?

Again thanks for the help I appreciate every bit of info, I wanna do this right the first time I am sick of paying out the ass for my meds.

There's no such thing as overkill on fans :biglaugh: Always better to have too much than too little, if your guy is offering you a fan for free, take it, I don't care if it could power a Boeing :D

Now, the most important thing I see being overlooked - what are you planning to do for odor control?

How bad do you think it will smell with a 250? My budget is running a little low but I was thinking something like this DIY Scrubber.
I would love any help if you know something that will work better for me or where I can get a cheap one that works well.

Good news:jump: and Bad news :wallbash:
First the good no GREAT news I got my fan and pyrex tube on friday and my closet is half way there well at least all the construction is over my light should be here monday then its just waiting on the seeds but in the mean time I hope to start some bag seeds. I also bought a scrubber that should be here sometime next week. I will be sure to keep you all updated.
Ok now for the BAD news
I was baked :joint: And the guy that lives next door happened to knock while I was waiting for a friend and told him to come in and well he saw my closet being ripped apart and boarded in half. He saw the tube and some venting nothing to incriminating. Hes a pretty cool dude that keeps to himself and his girl and doesn't have to big of a mouth. Although I am still freaked out a bit. I would really hate to have to move to start my long lost hobby.
Thanks for the listen

the first rule is keep it all hush hush. IMO if your security has been comprimised you should either pack up for a few weeks and see what happens, or move your grow to another part of your house.
the last thing that you want is to get your door kicked in by the police.
Just My opinion though. I have heard of people growing with quite a few other people knowing. Just not worth the possible bother to me..... Plus my bird would KICK MY ASS if i got carted away.
