24'' light in a Secret Jardin DR60

So I have a DR60 now and I'm running a 150w. Well I got a real good deal on a 400w cooltube but it's 24'', which is the same width as the tent, and there will be ducting on both sides.

Wouldn't I just be able to run it diagonally in the tent, so it fits? has anyone done this? I don't see why it could be bad.... as long as the air still passes though the light?

Ive got tent setups on my mind and took a look at yours.
1st things came to mind was a 400w micro vert scrog type set up.
Flower from like 6 inches high ladys & set up screens on a \ / with the light
Vert in center. 2 or 3 levels of little ladys on the outside off screen trained up if you have time to veg out a few weeks. otherwise just let them grow to the light,
Or

lol... A scrog with either 150 or 400w would be a good way to play...

Yea I was thinking scrog. This is my 2nd grow in this specific tent. That picture you put up.... Is that a 24" light? That's what I'm worried about because my tent is 24"x24" so Id have to run the light diagonal.

Just giver, never mind asking a question like that "you are wasting valuable time" lol stop second guessing and do it!!!! I also have a few DR's but packed away now. keeping it on a horizontal level and rotating it 45 degrees wont make any difference at all. fire it up

Looks to be 24" its a 400w air tube in a Secret Jardin DR60 i found on google .lol
and is tight fit, yet fits.
You might get away with diagonal.
Not sure about the light spread tho.
Your tent seems like it would still flood with light yet
I'm not a pro by any means.
On my 1st grow here myself and sharing some thoughts with ya..
Ie really stoned and in a good mood here... Yep puffpuff pass...

I would say depends on how it feels to you when it is in there.
Ya might try a empty setup and raise and lower light. see how it feels to you.

The 150w seems a little easier to handle, though I would think the heat to be about the same as the 400w tube due to ( im guessing) its not a tube hood with air flow through it.

hope someone that has done a tent grow will chime in and set up on the right path.

This is actually my first post here, though I've been lurking for quite some time and it was very helpful to me of course.

To our subject here:
Did you check the other size of Cooltube? I know there are two sizes of Cooltube, and I actually got the shorter one (40cm long it says on the shop's website) for my closet and 400w HPS.

Maybe check that out? Just my 2 cents...

Yea. I'll figure it out. I'm going to have to cut a hole in the tent too for the light . $100 for the cooltube, 400w digital ballast, MH and HPS bulbs. God it's nice living in a flooded market

I would advise not to cut those tents, what exhaust fan are you using? you dont have to air cool the tube, i have a sun system air cooled shade but it's not connected because i don't see any reason with 150w. you have 6.5 ft of ceiling inside which is lots of room for a 4" vortex. I had bubba kush, bluecitydiesel and sourbubble bx3 about 16 inches from the light while the shade was not plumbed to the exhaust!!

Or hey Ryan, be the FIRST to do a vertical bare bulb mirco grow x2 150w stacked and 3 rungs of shelving along the walls and using 1gals. i would imagine you should be able to pull off consistant HP's.
My last dr60 experiment was 1 plant - blueberryx NYCD. 3 week veg and flowered in a 5 gal, fed only EWC BM and Guano in the soil and as a topdress. its still drying now but it looks like 3ozs been drying for 7days now, another 3-4 days and i'll let ya know!

Use duct reducer's and don't cut the tent. I've seen a 18 inch cool tube before or find a sungro reflector from sunlight supply with the ducting on the top of the hood to save space. I'd also think about a digital ballast with adjustable wattage. That's what worked best for me in the past so you can run it at half power in your small tent for awhile until you upgrade tent sizes later. A 400 watt quantum at half power will be perfect for now then later u can get a 3x3 to flower in and put some t-5's in the 2x2 tent for veg. Hope it's in a basement or u might need to duct in some AC

No, you can have it as dual purpose. Most do. From scrubber with fan bolted to the scrubber run through the light tube and out to exhaust.

I just setup my DR60 last night, I think I'm going to do one run with it as a SCROG tent then convert it to a two-levelled veg tent

Ive got a DR60 and will have a 400w in there under an open reflector. Plant is still only a week old at the moment, so Ive got a 110w PLL veg light in there for now. I really hope that when it comes to putting the 400w light in there it won't fry the plant.The plant is in a 5gal DWC bucket and I'll be feeding it the lucas formula. I plan to scrog her out and let her veg plenty as she is a heavy indica.

I do have a cool tube to use if I feel like it, but will have to do the diagonal setup as mentioned here.

In such a small space, will the 400w turn the tent into an oven? I've got plenty of airflow as I'm using a 5" vortex fan.
