24/0 yields 5% increase - true or false?

Hi all,

I read here a seemingly copied and pasted thread on here, AFN, and GC. It states that:

18/6, 20/4 or 24/0? Which one do you choose? That is entirely up to you. There isn't much difference between them. 24/0 will produce slightly shorter plants and about a 5% increase in yield. That's about it. Just remember to give your plants at least 18 hours of light per day for maximum growth and yield.

Can anybody comment on this claim? I've heard it NOWHERE else except this copypasta "autoflower grow guide" that appears here and there.

Source (sorry could only find the GC version):

EDIT: Found the ICMAG version!

sweet seeds states in their auto-test grows that 18/6 is the most efficient way for autos.

I go 24/0 on my stuff. they need no down time because the light cycle has nothing to do with the buds.

I have never seen any negative effect from 24/0 for the hole life cycle and only lost growth from other light schedules.

The science is settled.

I saw someone here post that the plants are shorter under 24/0, and yield is better (I think was 5%).

20% more hydro than 20/4 - for 5% yield (is my math right?)

So if you have higher electricity rates during day, you can eliminate 4 hours of expensive hydro (when rates can be 25% higher), and only forsake a total potential of 5% better yield. But you'll get bigger stretch on plants, so if height is at a premium, the shorter heavier plants are better.

My head hurts.
