21 daze and a fresh start

Hello fellow growers,

As an OG member from 2003, I kept a picture diary of several crops produced in an apartment growroom environment. My purpose was not to show off but rather to have a place to keep pictorial and written records of my various strains and their growth rates throughout various stages of their lives.

Late last year, my growing efforts were put on hold due to new apt management and multiple "renovation minded" intrusions into my unit. It also didn't help when the OG fiasco unfolded...like so many others, I lost many valuable pics and written diary records of my grows regarding medium, ferts, nutes, plant responses to all...etc.

As to the question of why I had no back-up records or a disk of pictures, I can only say that, in the late-great USA, having absolutely no records of any kind is the paranoid way I deal with the reality of the confusing and dangerous world we American growers live in.

Well, all of that is in the past. I've moved on to a much more secure and suitable grow environment and with this fine growsite (ICMAG) established by Gypsy and others I intend to start another diary with pics of my current grow. I'll be dropping a few pics in every now and then and add a few notes for my future reference as I did on OG. If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to drop me a post or PM.

Ok, so here are a few pics of my first crop in a "yet to be completed" basement growroom. These plants are at day 21 of 12/12 and consist of four feminised white widow, two durban x skunk from south africa, and one c-99.

All are in 5 gallon pots in a soilmix consisting of miracle grow soil, perlite, worm castings, mexican & indonesian bat guanos, and dolomitic lime.

They are under a 1000 watt hps in a vented and enclosed hood...a light mover allows me the luxury of spreading the girls out a tad more than possible with a fixed position light.

I feed co2 throughout the light cycle using a propane generator and maintain about 1300 ppm on average.

My flowering ferts/nutes consist of tiger bloom, big bloom, budswell and liquid karma. A RO water filter unit provides me with a stable foundation of pure water in which to work with.

That's it for now, take care and stay safe.

Day 22

JARofHERB, thanks for feedback. Yeah, without a doubt many faithful OGers were blindsided by the gestapo move against richard and others. Kind of makes one wonder just how much the NSA (Not Suited for Americans) currently knows of our individual phone and internet activities.

My only real loss from OG was the fert/nute routine of crops and the pics of plant responses to each. I feel very sorry for those who lost so much more including their freedom over such an irrelevant and innocent pastime as growing a few plants.

WAMEN, thanks for taking a peek. The ladies seem to be doing very well for three weeks. The stretching is just about over as the upper nodes are really tightening up. Hopefully the next 5 weeks will be a great "pack-on" period....we'll need to wait and see.

Below are a couple of closer shots of a durban x skunk phenotype at 22 days. I need to stake and tie this one up soon as it's getting top-heavy already.

Take care and stay safe.

Day 31

Day 31

Dropped in a few more pics today. There was a bit more yellowing of lower leaves than I would like to see so I gave the 7 plants a shot (1/2 tsp/gal) of grow big with my last watering.

Otherwise, it looks like my stale air/carbon scrubber extraction system will be up and running shortly if I can ever get off overtime hours at work.

Normal feeding on a once per week basis is 1 tsp tiger bloom and 30 ml big bloom with a tsp of liquid karma every other feeding (every two weeks).

Temps and humidity in the basement growroom have remained very good to this point...I still remain concerned that without proper ventilation, the plants cannot reach their potential yield or potency.

That's it for now...take care and stay safe.

Swerve, you are absolutely right. A spear-chucker I hope to be...thanks for dropping in.

I made a difficult and critical decision (landlord not advised) to bore a hole in my basement wall in order to extract stale air with an inline fan and carbon scrubber combination. My ladies thanked me for the effort as a couple of 'em were trying to commit suicide prior but have now recovered somewhat. I consider the extraction of stale air and the "drawing in" of fresh air to be crucial for my garden or any other growers for that matter.

Below are a few pics of seven (7) plants at 41 days. Two (2) are showing signs of salt (toxic) buildup in the root system. My theory is the root systems of all my plants never reached their potential because of a room full of stale air...my co2 system gave me the final clue when it would not function properly as the pilot light would not stay lit.

Things are getting better now for sure.
